Dr. Amado Alejandro Baez, executive director of the Presidential Committee for Covid-19 Response, says citizens’ responsible use of physical and social distancing, the use of masks and frequent hand washing have paid off. He also attributed the control of the pandemic in the Dominican Republic to epidemiological interventions and the curfews. Dr. Baez spoke from the Presidential Palace on 26 May 2020 to give insights into the evolution of the start of economic recovery phases in the Dominican Republic. These began on Wednesday, 20 May 2020 when most workers were authorized to return to work.
