DR defeats Cuba in Americup Basketball qualifier

The Dominican Republic national basketball team won their second game in the FIBA-Americup qualifier at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana. The Dominican team defeated Cuba 96-60. The DR team had defeated the US Virgin Islands on Sunday. The series will continue in February 2021, with games against the US Virgin Islands, Cuba and Canada. The site of the tournament is yet to be announced.

The DR now leads 3-1 in Group C of the Americup qualifier, with six of the 10 required games played. Team Canada chose not to play in the qualifier held in Punta Cana.
