DR Merengue vs PR Merengue

I know DR is where Merengue was born and the national dance but- What's the difference between the DR merengue and the PR one?

Right now, none at all. There is a difference between DR merengue and Haitian merengue, though. Haitians use a lot more the guitar.

I would pay to differ that there is no difference between DR & PR merengue. The difference is that DR merengue is a damn shame while PR merengue is following the right path. DR merengue is becoming the equivalent to hardcore (explicit) rap! I would buy a PR merengue cd over almost any DR merengue cd! Buttom line is that the DR merengue degrading while you can appreciate the lyrics of a PR merengue. That's my opinion and whoever disagrees is denying the true fact!

i agree with PR_defeder....I mean DR_defender
the way Dominican lyrics in Merengue are going,
they are drifting from decent to explicit hard core
insinuations.
