Apparently, the government is going to create new awards for Dominicans abroad (don’t know if limited to those in NY or elsewhere too) that reach success in various fields. It will be named in honor of Dr Rafael Lantigua who is a prominent Dominican doctor with ties to New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University. I think he is from Santiago, though has been living in NY for many years..
