The National Health Coordinator (Conasalud) calls on the Dominican authorities to decree a state of emergency and a closed quarantine that includes the entire weekend, due to the impact of COVID-19.

"We call on the acting President, Danilo Medina, and the recently elected, Luis Abinader, to agree and decree a state of emergency and a closed quarantine with a curfew on weekends from Friday at 5: 00 pm until Monday at 5:00 am, for 15 days, ”demanded the representative of the National Union of Nursing Services (Unased), Sol Amantina Delgado.

The exact opposite of the intended results. Everyone would go shopping Monday thru Friday. More people bunched together over 5 days.

Friday nite in grocery stores would be a zoo.

BA are advertising holidays in Punta Cana for October and Tui are advertising Punta Cana for November, this could still be cancelled due to covid19 circumstances in Punta Cana or England

I hope this is a bad translation and this means 15 continuous days otherwise it makes no sense. But these people are beyond clueless so ill take it as just a weekend curfew. My god theyre really really bad at this.

We just need people to act responsibly an we could curb the infections ourselves without having to be locked down for 48 hours. But recent events in Santiago and elsewhere shows that people just are not prepared to do the right thing on their own, so everyone will get inconvenienced because some just don't get it.
