I seem to recall a thread about someone who recently renewed their DL but I can't find it now. It's time to renew mine. Would somone who has done this recently itemize the steps necessary so I can get all of my ducks in a row before going to the office and then being turned away because i do not have something or have not done everything required. Thanks in advance.

I know, #1, what else ?

#1 Pay renewal fees at BanReserva

I asked what you paid there by credit card. I assume it was the renewal fees and taxes and not some other fee. I'm trying to get a sense of everything I may have to pay for and what hoops I will have to jump through - eye exam, another blood test, any extra fees over what Banrserva asked for, Cedula verification...

I was in/out for my new license in 10 minutes or less

890 pesos(?) at the bank
but they take credits cards in INTRANT

Yes - they did the eye test
I got a few giggles from the girls for my Three Blind Mice act..bouncing off the wall

Fingerprint ---- and out

Painless.... easy..,.. fast

All done.

Paid at the bank. Showed up at the office and waited in line for 10 minutes or so. Showed payment receipts old license and cedula, read an eye chart and left with new 4 year license. My first DR process win in a long time.

Absolutely an easy process.

One of the easiest processes to deal with in this country. License renewal is a breeze unlike so many other tasks here.

So William W. paid at the Licence office in Nagua by credit card and Cdn_Gringo paid at the bank before going to the office in (I presume) Puerto Plata. Can anyone confirm that you can pay by credit card at the Puerto Plata office?

My assumption is that the INTRANT offices accept cards at all locations

Actually, I paid at the bank but found out that the office accepts cards while I was there renewing

The Gringo might have checked for cards at the POP office.... he didn't say
