Felt in Cabarete. Seemed to last about 3-4 seconds. Noticeable but not that strong here.

Yes, I felt it clearly in Sosua, I am on 3rd floor, so good movement side to side.... !

(Still not showing exact details on my earthquake app yet.)

I sent a note to my wife before coming on line.
Well felt here in Santiago (the area between Santiago and Tamboril)
A good 3-4 seconds with things moving--lamps and furniture.

It should show up on the NGS page pretty soon. I would guess a 4 point something...

Seems like everyone in the DR is commenting on social media about how they felt it, which is surprising. Maybe because it was so shallow?

That's the way it should be. Generally, the shallower the quake the more the forces are transferred to the surface. So even smaller quakes can be felt over a wide area.

More likely to feel it if seated or leaning against something. I was walking across the floor and if the wife hand't said anything (she was sitting on the couch) I would have missed it.

Shook us pretty good in Gaspar Hernandez. First time in 15 years that I called the kids into the safe room in our home.
Usually they are a quick shake but this one went on for about 5-10 seconds. I was sitting at my computer and felt the chair start to sway and it grew stronger. Strongest I have felt . The Haiti shake in 2010 I didn't feel but this one I did . Was a bit nerve racking this time.
