His place was THE place to go for the World Cup back in the day. 400 Brits and Germans watching the games and spraying down the bar with Presidentes when they won.

I did not have the pleasure of meeting Eddy. He certainly is one DR1 member I would like to have met in person. I imagine he would be a lot of fun telling me stories of his life in the DR.
My sympathies to his family and to his many friends.
Rest in peace Eddy.

I was hoping this wasn't true but I just visited his people and it is unfortunately true.

I'm really shocked.

Known him almost 20 years, always friendly, always helpful and always fair.
Condolences to his friends and family. A real loss for Sosua.

OMG! What a shock. I've also known Eddie for years and he was a saint of a guy. Never had a bad thing to say about anyone, at least to me. He was a good friend and had tons of advice when I bought Rocky's and thanks to him, we are doing just fine.

Eddie, your advice will be with me for the rest of my life and your friendship will be sorely missed.

When I started this topic I was in shock over the news. I will miss the bbq's we had at his condo and all the laughs we has over drinks. His advise and wisdom was invaluable! What a stand up guy and a good friend. Goodspeed amigo you will be missed.

I met Eddy when we first moved here several years ago. My husband has know him for 20+ years and often tells stories of the parties and sporting events at his bar. He has helped me out different times that I need it! A genuine nice guy! Our prayers and thoughts go to his family at this most devastating loss!
God's Speed Eddy!

What sad news! Eddy was such a wonderful character always willing to help ex-pats sort out the settling in questions. Let's all raise a glass to Eddy. RIP

Everyone should consider themselves lucky if they get to live and enjoy life as he did.
Gone too soon, Eddy. RIP.
