EDENorte North Coast: Electricity Outages & Restoration Announcements

The following areas are scheduled to lose power this coming Thursday Sept 17 from 10:00-16:00 while Edenorte does maintenance. Circuit Sosu101.

Camino de Los Llibres, La Mulata 1,2, 3 Y 4, Playa Laguna, Sea Horse Ranch, Lomas Mironas, El Choco, Perla Marina, Bombita, Lomas Del Sol, Sosúa Village, Vista del Caribe 1 y 2, Coconut Palm, Caminos del Sol, Entrada Discoteca Sosúa.

Right on Sched off goes the power as per the above announcement. If only Edenorte was as punctual turning it back on at the end of the period. We'll see.

In about six minutes the uncertain guessing game begins. I'm going to guess the power comes back between 16:30 - 17:00 I hope sooner but i've learned it is usually later. It's been a long Thursday of energy use discipline.

Edenorte has published their maintenance schedule for next week. Nothing mentioned for Sosua but there is reference to CABT102 circuit which I believe may be somewhere in Cabarete. Power to this circuit will be cut 10:00-16:00 on Tuesday Sept. 22. Numerous communities in Puerto Plata and Luperon will be affected as well. Those wishing to check for themselves can do so in the noticias section of the Edenorte website.

Power was also off on CABT102 last night from about 1:30 AM to about 4 AM. It is all the maintenance they do that keeps things so reliable

Power has been off several times late evenings lately SABY 102 or maybe SABY 101 - goes off about 9 pm and back on around 11 or 12ish

CABT101 off grid, thunder and lightning cause I believe. But went on again after some minutes. And finally some welcome rain too.

It went off for a brief period in Sosua too. There is a news post on DR1 about blackouts. I'm going to check that out. Maybe the cause. I don't think the lightning struck anything.

Coincidence with lightning over here seems likely. Went off briefly at least 3 times

The blackouts due to fuel shortage and maintenance should have lasted longer if that was the cause, imo

I see some places in SD were affected by those

Hey, the inverter kicked in again here in Cabarete, CABT101.

After some very stable months

Pay your bills and let the generators buy fuel. I guess the pandemic 24/7 luz to all demanded quite some money to the generators from the gov.

I'm not expecting much to change with respect to electricity distribution reliability anytime soon. This thread is just a place to learn that you are not alone in the dark. Potentially, that restoration of service has begun. It is sometimes important to understand the scope of an outage- Entire city/town or province, and sometimes the entire country as happened just before a presidential televised statement during the last election.

Lots of people don't use facebook and some of those who do do not know how to find the information they are looking for. In this thread DR1 users can help each other out by posting up to date north coast Edenorte info in a place everyone knows how to get to quickly and easily when they need to. Time is important when trying to extend the life of backup batteries during an outage so best not to have to spend more time than necessary using power looking for online info.
