power in all of Sosua has been out since this afternoon and is still out at 9:30pm...Power off at least on CABT102 at around 7:20 PM caused by a lightning strike during a very active thunderstorm.
How extensive is the outage on the north coast? Power is back on again for the moment... The storm seems to moving on.
It came back on at 1am. We were without electricity for 15 hours. They change and transformer and messed up the installation. My inverter got fried the night before in that electrical storm, so I had no power at all. It was a day from hell. Back to Santo Domingo I go where live is normal.Spoke with a good friend of mine who lives in El Batey about an hour ago.
He said the bars/ clubs were starting to close up early as it appears their batteries
were finally dying. Said his electric went out early this morning and hasn't yet come
back on.
YET ANOTHER REASON....
I live in Santiago.
Sosua has been having problems with electricity for several months. It came back on at 1am. We were without electricity for 15 hours. They change and transformer and messed up the installation. My inverter got fried the night before in that electrical storm, so I had no power at all. It was a day from hell. Back to Santo Domingo I go where live is normal.
You must live in the part of the North Coast with the highest incidence of power outagesStill no power on my part of CABT102. 21 hours without power so far because of some wind and rain, but mostly the incompetence of Edenorte.
Careful - I posted this photo of what caused a blackout in Cabarete a few months ago and it was deleted as irrelevant for some reason beyond my understanding.Power pole problem on main highway near La Cienaga of Cabarete . And I heard near the Cabarete police station another power cable problem exists.
The main issue we had (and liklely will have again) inside our development was that we have many trees growing into the power lines. You must live in the part of the North Coast with the highest incidence of power outages
Because the poles are installed in a hurry and construction work in this country is sloppy. You see many poles leaning within weeks after they're installed because loose dirt settlesI would ask why the wind was able to knock over 2 power poles. Something else I don't understand here.
