They usually shut off the power during a hurricane as a precaution. Not sure why the put out that notice.
Well in this case I don't think they did it as a precaution, but rather there are so many power lines all around the country that has been brought down and probably also a couple of substations that currently isn't working. So it wouldn't surprise me if there's no power until earliest tomorrow night, or until Wednesday.

I'd have to look it up. But using a lot more gen since no sun for solar.
Guess is it's off more than on and guessing it's not very clean.

I have a message from the local EdeNorte saying that there are problems everywhere, that they are working day and night trying to resolve them, and that they hope to restore power as soon as possible. Here in Jamao, no power, no water, and hardly anyone has a generator or inverter. Life is tough.

In our learning center, we believe we will need to cancel classes again tomorrow. We can function without electricity. But kids need to go to the baños and wash their hands. Without water, impossible.

It's back in Encuentro. Not really sure the time between yesterday night and this morning. My batteries + solar panels did a good job to hide the Ed Norte outage.

When a tree fell in my development during a wind gust from the recent blow by of Fiona, it knocked wires from a power line and blew out the main fuse to our development. If that had not happened, the effects at my house would have been about the same from a couple of strong thunderstorms. Moderately high winds in the 40 knot range for a while and a couple of multi inch rainfalls.

I took just over two days to get the lines fixed and power restored yesterday afternoon using two different repair brigades, one with a cherry picker to fix the downed lines. Edenorte was reluctant to even come until the tree was cut and removed saying that was not their job. So the tree was cut and they eventually came, still reluctantly.

I am not seeing many lights on at night west of the immediately west of the El Rocon beach area.
Who is still without power, if anyone in Cabarete?

Perla Marina SOSU101 power out since about 12:00 Saturday 24th September, and still out at 14:15 ! Anyone else off and any info about the problem. Fiona is long gone but it might be some clean up work from that event!

Power back on 14:15 in Perla Marina then briefly off again for a few minutes.

Power off in our area, CABT102, and probably other parts of Cabarete, since about noon. Edenorte is aware of it, but has no idea when power will be back on for us.

Also, we have some trees touching power lines and I attempted to make a report about that. I was told that since power is now off, I cannot make another report. Only in the DR does that make sense.
