I'm curious to hear other's opinions on e motorcycles.

There's been a ton of improvements and progress on them as the supply chains for electric cars has grown, allowing for the growth.

They are faster, quieter and generally cheaper to maintain. The downside here is the obvious, the poor quality of power. However with the cost of the e-motorcycles/scooters dropping fast and improving a lot, people may start to overlook that.

Are any of the Chinese car dealers in SD brining them in yet?

the only reason there aren't tens of thousands, or more, of serious injuries of people being run down by motos every year is that you can hear them coming, they need to make e-motos illegal to own

When it sounds like a moto is driving up behind you on the sidewalk, it means that a moto is driving up behind you on the sidewalk.

Several of the EV auto dealers are also importing electric scooters.

They represent an opportunity that will only continue to grow, in spite of the obvious electrical grid challenges. Lots of colmados have started to use them for deliveries.

As to sound mentioned above, they are working to install sounding devices into the actual scooters and EV’s. One company called TIER is involved in the process.

In the US, EV’s operating at 20 mph or less are now required to emit sound as a pedestrian warning.

Too bad nobody knows how to repair them. My little scooter broke down. I called a guy who looked at it and turned to me and said yep it won't go and left and yes he wanted me to pay him. I asked the delivery guys who drive them and they said I have to go to Santiago. So the little bike just sits gathering dust

Isn’t it basically battery, motor, controller and some wiring? I guess with a simple multimeter you could at least pinpoint where the problem is.

There are lots of rather cheap electric pasolas on FB marketplace. Looks there is a market.

I know at least one colmado in POP uses electric scooters for delivery - they probably have needed repairs on occasion, so would know who to turn to, Same would be true in other places, I would think. Also, aren't golf carts often electric too? That would be another place to ask for references.

No Dominican or Haitian would ride one.
They only want something that makes loud noise. It's the "Look at Me" factor
Of course if they make the EV motos much faster we will see skinny twits laying down on them racing to their deaths on the highway near La Vega.

There was a exhibition of very very nice and big E-Motorcycles at Downtown Mall in SD several month ago. Not the "scooter type" etc. I let you know should i remember the dealers name or the Brand( but i doubt it LOL).

I have seen several at various colmados, all manufactured by a Chinese company called TAILG.

They will figure out they can charge with free luz and use the battery capacity to run a sound system strapped on. Twisted wires and tapey may be the new tuning. Btw electric motors have torque from the start, so great for wheelies.

The considerations about the power pack is crucial. Example: 2008 did a test on the 48 Volt that was selling for around 30K DOP. Taylor, when you import one of your builds, let us know about others evaluations of your build. My first test model went at 28 MPH with a load of slightly over 300 pounds for 3 hours. Two wheels. Had I not lost balance I could go at the Scooters. That test model had 29 inch wheels. Selenium frame. Rapid change outs for the wheels depending on the Terrain. Had to put a saddle on that machine as the ride would vary.

How are they at wheelies?
While on the Boardwalk I did get a message to pop a wheelie. So, another testing of conditions, I cat walked it. Good thing there was a friend around. That cat walking did put too much energy into the magic pie wheel. Had to walk from there. When that Front Wheel came off the ground ......

Here is a question. Why not open the system and duplicate from available, sources, each component?
