In a new development, it is now known that the United States’ FBI investigators are assisting Dominican security and rescue teams as the search continues to solve the case of missing 20-year old Sudhiksha Konanki in Punta Cana. The parents, relatives and friends of Konanki are in Punta Cana while widespread efforts continue to find the University of Pittsburgh student who traveled to Punta Cana with five other girlfriends on 3 March 2025 for a spring break vacation.

The parents are asking the authorities to continue the search, finding strange the version of the last person who was with their daughter, 24-year old Joshua Steven Ribe, that their daughter most likely drowned. Ribe and Konanki remained at the beach after 4:15am when Konanki’s five girlfriends and another young man in the group returned to their hotel rooms after partying. Ultra sad for the family, they will never recover. The big guy commented on the case, so the pressure is really on.

The FBI will figure this out within 24-48 Hours , Period .. The Dominican Police are grossly Incompetent. Hopefully they did not destroy the investigation and any evidence which may have given clues . For example, her Clothes .. could be a ton of clues there.
I agree. Evidence has a way of, “going missing”, when the DR police or drug enforcement agencies are involved. They aren’t noted for proper forensic procedures and evidence collection, probably the result of a lack of training. Their approach seems to be rounding up the usual suspects which, for the most part, works well for local investigations. Hopefully the FBI can resolve this quickly and the family can get some answers.

This appears to be a case of tourists intentional or not. Similar to the American woman that suffered some violence in Punta Cana and then it became known the beating was done by her own American husband. The DR was simply where was the hotel where the domestic violence took place.

I also forgot to ask.. WHY would the FBI be involved, IF this were a Simple Drowning ??
I suppose they can help to Locate the body better with their Team of Experts , but I think they smell something as well, and the most Likely Suspect is this Male US Citizen, so he is definitely being looked into very carefully... Any history against Women back home ? Sure they already checked that .
Hate to speculate further. but based on that one photo This Guy is a WRESTLER.... think on that a Moment, what would a Wrestler with a Possible temper Problem do , if a Woman Rejected his Advances ? add that 2 + 2 for a moment .

Possibly but no surprise the FBI is involved if the family has money and influence. The FBI has a history of involvement in DR tourist death investigations. The tainted liquor deaths being the highest profile one and one of the most recent.

But there is no DEATH , until there is a Body .. or a very Long Period of Time Elapses
I asked Drowning, because the Media are all saying it , and I believe it to be False .

you took my statement to mean I did not think they should or would be involved ?
I meant quite the Opposite . Im saying they already have their reasons ..OTHER than a " missing person" / " possible drowning"
whatever those reasons may be , we can differ in opinion on that .

FBI doesn't normally get involved in missing person's cases in other countries. This girl is from Loudoun County, VA. No doubt her parents have money and a few connections.
The FBI's involvement is not uncommon in cases of missing US persons where foul play is suspected or help requested from local law enforcement. If there is evidence of foul play, especially, cross border

No. I agree with you. They should be involved regardless of the reason to assist the DR police with their investigation. The FBI has capabilities that far exceed those of the DR police and her family needs answers.

First thing FBI is going to do is pull all of the security camera footage from the area where she was last seen.

Oops.
GOTCHA!
It appears doing this may be a problem due to their inability to keep the lights on.

Well if a piece of skull can go missing in a hospital certainly evidence can easily go missing

Yes , I posted a TeeToe video of some guests there complaining about this. Actually it's all over social media various guests blasting the hotel and the DR. Many comments from Dominicans are calling it a defamation campaign, but well, sometimes the memes write themselves.

It's nice to see the US FBI takes action for a naturalized citizen, like they also did for born in the US citizen Brent Lewis when he was murdered by Frankie Fixit in Sosua

I remember that Neanderthal. They tried to blame a resort employee.
