I suspect we are just at the start of what will happen in the DR because of fentanyl.I read the local news every day. How many people exactly died of fentanyl in DR during 2024, for example? I have never heard of anyone. But if there were some, probably it's 1% of number of those who died after consuming clerén.
I have been saying legalize, regulate , tax, and treat addicts from day one of the failed war on drugs. I agree on the who dies part 100%.Honestly, I don't care about drugs at all, not my problem. If it was up to me, I'd say legalize them all, sell them legally and tax them. Who dies because of them, it's their problem.
Probably just another on line business working from home as a drop shipper. What I found interesting in this article is his model of operation. Still unclear if he imported it from India to DR or they shipped it directly to his customers in US, and he just operated the websites. What I can say for sure is that if his nickname was "Francisco Fentanilo", probably he talked to much, as all Dominicans.
Fentanyl , becuase it is so easy and cheap to produce using very small quantities of the raw materials needed that are readily available, and has a high street value, is perhaps the best example of why the war on drugs can never be won. Fentanyl is just so easy to make and tiny amounts go a long way making it impossible to find. It is now mixed in with other substances like cocaine or meth to enhance the duration of the high and is addicitve.
Good luck getting rid of it by trying to arrest everyone making and selling it. Not gonna happen ever.
