When we were leaving last year after 2.5 months the guy was all concerned we had not paid a fee? he called a supervisor and I said where do you pay this fee they collected it then and there and gave me a receipt. So the question is where do you pay the overstay fee as we do two to three months at a time and do not want to cause a hassle.

Stick a folded 1,000rd bill in your passport at the picture page. Give the immigration officer a look. They will know what you mean and you will have no problems

Sincerely, this surprises me coming from you. You just had a situation where you felt some shadiness occurred. I heard your side and was sympathetic. Now you're advocating perpetuating the culture of shadiness that you just complained about being victimized by?

Punta cana used to always leave me baffled every time as you go through this process once on the other side and are checked in (or you used to anyway) I remember thinking I had got away without paying once until I tried to board and was sent rushing back to get it. A pain because it is not obvious what you are expected to do and asking people is a waste of time as some have this included in the flight.

Exactly the old dude looking to stamp our exit on our passport kept pointing to our entry date then looking at me as if I would have the answers. Hell i don't work here man someone put up a sign please I am going to ask at where you check in with the airline to get your boarding pass etc, they are usually on the ball. Yes the first 30 days is included in your entry fee but i stay longer but lord forbid they have an obvious sign up lol!

Where in Pop do you pay the overstay fee, I have heard a few different things, I would like to pay with no hassles and go to the right place. If anyone can help it would be appreciated. Thanx

You can pay the overstay fee at the airport at POP but it just means that you have pre-paid your fine. For example, it does not extend the period of time when you can drive with your home country's driver's license. I would be shocked if you can get a new stamp of entry.

We flew out of POP on Feb. 21 after being there 32 days.... the man stamping our passports on the way out was the one who collected the "fine". There is no receipt so, no way to prove you did pay it if anyone asks for proof.

In other words, he stole the fine, you pay at the cashier to the right of immigration, and they give you a receipt.
