Fire at Plaza Luperon

A fire which broke out in the underground warehouse of La Sirena at Plaza Luperon (intersection of Independencia and Luperon) earlier this evening is still not under control.

So far the bomberos have had to refill their tanks about 30 times and water is being continually trucked in by CAASD.

The firefighting is expected to continue for most of the night and nearby warehouses have alerted their own firefighting crews to prevent the fire spreading to their premises.

By around 0400 this morning the fire was under control but the damage is apparently quite extensive. Some 40 water tankers were used in he fire fighting operation thus far. I wonder if there's going to be a fire sale.

No Frank, that La Sirena is attached to a strip mall with small stores......I think there's a farmacia, a Payless shoes there, for example.
