I am traveling now Hamburg to Madrid to Santo Domingo with Iberia. Nice but not particularly practical. First I was on the train from Aarhus in Denmark to Hamburg. What other options are there from Europe ?

I have been in recent years on BA from London Gatwick to Punta Cana. I am hearing about Condor and Bruxelles Airlines.

TUIFLY.BE from brussels to PUJ
Air Europa from Brussels (I suppose many other cities) via Madrid to SDQ or PUJ
Iberia from Brussels (I suppose many other cities) via Madrid to SDQ
Air France from Brussels (I suppose many other cities) via Paris to SDQ

Why not Brussels airlines CPH-BRU and jetairfly BRU-PUJ?

€100 and €300-500. One way.

Still a long trip

AARHUS CPH, 300 km.

Air Carïbes does a Paris to Punta Cana and Santo Domingo.
TUI does an Amsterdam to Punta Cana (I think there is a Bonaire stop in one of the directions).
Edelweiss does a Zurich to Punta Cana.
And I think there is a Portugal carrier that does charter flights half of the year from Lisbon to Punta Cana.

Good info. I think I will be looking at flying from Bruxelles next time. There is a flight from Billund in Denmark to Bruxelles so can connect this way.

Yes London Gatwick with BA to Punta Cana is a good option. In my case it’s getting to Gatwick from where I am. We have flights to Heathrow.

When I flew to Italy, we landed at Heathrow, there was a free bus that transferred us to Gatwick to pick up BA to Venice

I am from Holland but I would not fly through Amsterdam for free.
Hours waiting in line, ridiculous controls etc.

The connection I have to Heathrow would not make it in time. It doesn’t connect for me.

Same goes for recent "service" LHR.
Brexit made the lines and inefficiency much worse, EU citizens now have to use Foreign Passport control.

One really has to do homework regarding most efficient connections, airports, airlines and equipment.

You are screwed with Aarhus.
Either Copenhagen or Hamburg for departure.

Here an example LH>HAM>SDQ 16:25 HRS
As a EU citizen EU travel no problems or time wasted for international connections.

It is LH and Condor

Or go LH > HAM-ZRH
Edelweiss ZRH-PUJ

Of course you could gat a direct flight from CPH to MAD go Iberia
Or fly CPH to JFK > SDQ or PUJ
Or CPH- LH to YYZ- PUJ by WS, AC/ROUGE, SWG, TS.

There is actually an Aarhus airport but it’s small. Better for international is Billund and I am considering next time Billund to Bruxelles to SDQ.
