The CrowdStrike failure that caused generalized flight cancellations affected several flights in the Dominican Republic, disrupting travel plans for thousands. Diario Libre reported there were 19 flights delayed and two were cancelled due to the Microsoft systems failure.
CNN reports that over 1,000 flights into, within or out of the United States were canceled by Monday afternoon (22 July 2024), and over 5,500 were delayed, according to flight tracking site FlightAware. Delta passengers have been slammed by more than 4,400 cancellations since Friday, including more than 800 on Monday, by far the most of any airline.
