Mountain communities in the province of La Vega were affected by the heavy rains that accompanied a passing trough. Listin Diario reports that areas in the municipal district of Manabao (Jarabacoa) were isolated from the main road due to the collapse of bridges and landslides resulting from the overflowing of rivers. These include La Cotorra, Boca de los Ríos, La Ciénaga Abajo and La Costura.
