It is quite humorous that Google Twitter and You Tube are worried about restricting free speech - since they are doing in every second.

Being a Canadian is a mixed blessing Chico. We are no better or worse than many other developed countries. Our political pendulum swings right and left and our current crop of political leaders are a sorry lot. More interested in their fat pensions than the people they are supposed to represent.
My concern is their lack of vision and the obscene amount of taxpayer money they waste with no consideration for the long term effect of their spending.
On a positive note, I’ve been treated well by our socialized medical system. I just had a heart operation done at no cost that would have cost anywhere from $80 to $120k in the US. My pension, CPP, and OAP provide me with the funds necessary to meet and actually exceed the requirements of DR pensioner residency.
The DR attraction for me is the climate. Much easier as I age. If Canada and the US had been divided laterally instead of horizontally, Key West would be my retirement home. The thought of being able to leave Canada and drive down every winter is pretty sweet. Living full time in the DR is the next best thing and a lot cheaper than Key West.
I will always have links to Canada regardless of where I live. It is what it is and we are who we are.
