It would make more sense if the aircraft could carry more than one passenger. One member here (I never see him posting now) used to take passengers to order in his plane. I always thought an air-taxi service between Puerto Plata and Punta Cana would be a good idea.

This is the DR. Motos are for the driver and one passenger but you regularly see more the 2 and up to 5 or 6. Im sure they will find a way to carry more than 1. Maybe hang the off them sides or something.

It’s blue sky thinking but, if a service was actually available and operated and maintained by properly qualified staff, I would use it. Quality of service and cost would be issues as well. Any opportunity to get to where you’re going safely and avoid the carnage on the DR roads is a good one. Having difficulty figuring out how the squeegee kids at the stop signs will make a buck on the air taxi. 😆

Did anyone notice it was Karim Nader Abu Naba'a who financed the project? Nuff said.

Its bad enough trying to dodge motos and cars, now we have to look above as well
In SD at least many folks would be in a traffic jam, so that makes it a bit safer to look up.

They can't even drive cars, trucks and motorcycles....so yes, this is a joke.
They never said anyone can drive them. Every Dominican is also not allowed to fly airplanes or helicopters, yet both are present in the Dominican sky every single day (many piloted by Dominicans.)

Some Dominicans have their own private aircraft. They have fly in meet and greets. If it flies, you have to be fully certified to operate it and they are restricted to designated routes and heights. Regarding looking up I’d be cautious. I’ve seen a lot of people throw waste out the windows of moving vehicles along the North Coast highway. The thought of being hit in the eye with a half eaten empanada tossed from an air taxi doesn’t appeal to me.
