You are right. To express I love you in Spanish for English speakers can be a challenge. I found an article that explains it quite well with examples of what each expression means.

No I know but when I was younger I picked te quiero. Another one is te aprecio.
Medical vocabulary is good to know in Spanish and a lot of new vocabulary and words have been created specific to Covid-19. I have seen quite a few lists on the web and I hear new words and expressions when I watch the news in Spanish.
