French airline offers major increase in direct flights

Air Caraibes, the French airline based at Paris Orly airport, had announced a significant increase in its flights to Punta Cana and Santo Domingo. For the winter season of 2023-2024, the airline says it will increase its flights by 50%, offering some 6,000 seats per week to flyers between France and the Dominican Republic.

Air Caraibes is filling the void left after Air France reduced its flights to Santo Domingo and Punta Cana to the winter season, possibly due to Air France’s financial difficulties and now has removed them, reported Aviation Source News.

As of 20 October 2023, Air Caraibes will offer a daily flight from Paris-Orly to the Dominican Republic. As of 14 December 2023, the airline will offer nine weekly flights to the country.

The frequencies will be:punta Cana-Paris-Orly 4 – One daily non-stop flightSanto Domingo-Paris Orly 4 – Two weekly flights via Port-au-Prince (Haiti) and one via San Salvador (Bahamas).
