A joint operation involving the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD), the Specialized Airport Security Corps (CESAC), and state intelligence agencies, coordinated by the Public Ministry, led to the arrests. The suspects were flagged following intelligence reports and subsequent profiling at the airport.

Upon undergoing routine security screenings, one of the individuals triggered an alarm due to foreign objects detected in his digestive system. Further examinations of the other three French nationals revealed similar results.

Quite often they are trafficked, they get involved with the wrong people and very soon they end up having to be a mule as the least of two evils. One of my Dominican friends was trafficked to Mexico last year, it was horrible. He managed to escape, but it was a very scary situation.

I don't know much about the mule business but one can clearly see how France, as the tin can Airbus is its last and only viable legacy, would venture into drug trafficking. Vive la France

They are criminals that made a decision and got caught. Their decision was not to work and transport poison for a quick buck. Losers! They deserve jail time.

Upon return to France, they will not be prosecuted, but celebrated for their diversity and creativity.
They may not get back to France. A Russian waiter in Cabarete tried to go home and Russian customs denied entry. They put him on a flight, and he came back to Cabarete. A little worse for wear after all the traveling.

Better than being sent to the Ukraine border.

I don't see why or how France could refuse French citizens.

I didn't assume deportation, but rather pointed out I see no resaon France would refuse them.

They may well do a lot of time in the DR.

"Don't worry, they can't detect it because it is inside you. You'll walk right through!"

I'd love to see the look on their faces when they are transferred to a jail from the airport.
