A blind man can go to any driving school, pay the fee and get a license..................
hi, yes i have a dominican cedula. i will go through the procedure of taking the test etc. For some reason I thought i could just go there and swap my usa license for a dominican one without taking any test. thanks everybody for your response. i really appreciate iterod, do you have a Dominican Cedula , as in being a legal resident in the DR?
(Others are correct in stating you cannot use a US license to get a DR license. You have to just go through the procedure here. )
I was looking for a driving instructor recently for my mujer. I was told 7000 pesos for the license all in. No need for a test, instructions or to show up for anything. Just go and provide a blood test.A blind man can go to any driving school, pay the fee and get a license..................
Coming from NYC that made me laugh. One could only compare the US motor vehicle office in NYC to North Korea, Siberia, or Communist China. That's about as close as I can come to a comparison.Dealing with the people in Puerto Plata is actually a pleasure. They are very nice unlike the people in US motor vehicle offices.
I would like to know how, as I never heard that before.Awhile back I asked my lawyer if I could get a drivers license without a cedula and he told me yes, I never followed up with him. However, the guys is no flake so he must have said yes for a reason. Just my two cents.
I believe that there are certain types of visas (not tourist cards or tourist visas) that allow the holder to obtain a Dominican license or, alternatively, drive on the license from their home country for an extended time over the usual permitted time.Awhile back I asked my lawyer if I could get a drivers license without a cedula and he told me yes, I never followed up with him. Think, diplomatic visas or visas for NGO workers like Peace Corps volunteers.
under the "exception" that certain vehicle insurances have their own certain fine print.I think you're right on that
and the extension allows for further 'legal' driving
