On TikTok, there were many many many posts complaining about the RIU. They said there was no power there and the food was horrible. Is this a smear campaign or is the place really that bad?
I've stayed there twice. The food was nothing to rave about but there were no issues with power or anything else. However, the last stay was well over a year ago.

I saw it on RD Crimestoppers, DR Expat page and at least one other. Hope she’s found.
That stretch of beach can be busy especially down toward the Hard Rock. Normally on the Punta Cana TA forum they are all over things like this. Maybe they were slow to seeing the news. When something "bad" happens everyone on that forum will start asking "We are coming next week, is it safe". Agree hope she is found safe.

It is not "bad", it is known as more of a party resort and the price point is fairly low. The stretch of beach in that area is nice but it is a resort where you get what you pay for. There are worse resorts.

Folks, let's keep focus on the missing girl, off critiques of resort food and party scenes. Think of the emotions of her family and friends, they don't need to see reviews. The object of this thread is to inform, to help find the young woman.

Regards,

PJT

The atmosphere of the resort does have an effect on the guests and can play a factor in issues that may happen. Nothing that is being posted here is anything different than what you can find posted elsewhere.

What stretch of beach is going to be busy at 3am?
It would not be busy at 3am, the only people out there would be the occasional security patrol from the resort and surrounding resorts.

Missing?
Subject of a thread DR1?
Never a good look.
About a 99% chance she's dead.

Yup, like a poor person with no insurance waiting for a kidney
I hope I am wrong and she is returned safe and sound but I have been a member of this wonderful forum for many years and can't remember a single case where the missing foreigner turned up alive.

Out in the real world I think it runs about 50/50, mainly younger girls who turn up after missing for a few days.
