From what I've read, and the reported timelines and details change more than Riibe's story, so correct me if I'm wrong, but the search operation didn't start until two days later. Littoral currents in that area move west-north-west at 1mph-2mph. Two days later, the body could have easily been 50 to 100 miles away. That is a vast expanse of ocean to try and spot a floating body - especially in seas that were reported to be rough. At this point in time, the chances of finding her are a less than slim.
Feeding this into AI betting odds calculator [please note I am not advocating 100% reliability, this is a betting odds calculator, using only mathematical probability]. Just for casual spitballing:

Probability Analysis

When a person drowns close to the shoreline of a beach, the fate of their body, whether it washes up on shore or is completely swallowed up by the ocean never to be found, depends on factors like ocean currents, wave action, and water depth. Below are three scenarios with their corresponding odds of each outcome.

Scenario 1: Typical Beach Conditions
- Description: A beach with moderate waves and gentle currents, where wave action pushes objects toward the shore.
- Odds:
- Washing up on shore: 90%
- Being lost at sea: 10%
- Explanation: In typical conditions, the body is likely to be carried back to shore by waves, especially once it floats due to decomposition.

Scenario 2: Beach with Moderate Offshore Transport
- Description: A beach with occasional rip currents or mild offshore winds that can pull the body away temporarily.
- Odds:
- Washing up on shore: 70%
- Being lost at sea: 30%
- Explanation: Moderate offshore forces increase the chance of the body being carried out, but it’s still likely to return to shore over time.

Scenario 3: Beach with Strong Offshore Transport or Unique Topography
- Description: A beach with strong rip currents, offshore winds, or a steep drop-off near the shore, capable of carrying the body farther out.
- Odds:
- Washing up on shore: 50%
- Being lost at sea: 50%
- Explanation: Strong offshore transport or challenging topography makes it equally likely for the body to be lost at sea or wash up somewhere along the coast.

Summary
In most cases near a shoreline, the body is more likely to wash up on shore due to wave and current patterns. However, as offshore forces strengthen, the odds of it being lost at sea increase significantly.

I must not have seen the right picture. Riibe didn't look remotely obese to me.
I don't think anyone was suggesting he is obese. My take is we drifted into a conversation about leading statistical causes of death for foreigners on vacations in the Caribbean vs globally. AE has cautioned us get back on topic.

Supposedly the Authorities are now RE INTERVIEWING people who had Contact with the group, ( assuming this Includes the Night Club)

I wonder if anything maybe popped off at Coco Bongo, which set something in Motion.

How did Coco Bongo come into play here? I thought they were all at a bar at the resort?

Well to be honest if you're researching attorneys in DR as an American and seeking English speaking, GA&A dominates search results.

Some Dominican law firms wouldn't touch this case with a ten foot pole. There is no question as to the depth and breadth of expertise of this firm. It doesn't make cornpone cinnamon top look any less guilty however, as all folks have the right to whatever representation they can afford.
You won't find ONE Dominican lawyer that would refuse this case. A Gringo in big trouble with a family with money to pay behind him. Any lawyer can charge whatever he wants in Dollars and get it............

All firms will not blindly take cases based on spotlights and dollars. Some will, not all. An individual practicing attorney is more money and fame hungry than successful firms.

Its becoming very clear that its been a Hundred years since you were Young , or could even think like a Young person.

thankfully the Authorities have more Investigative Skills and common sense than some of the one track Posters here
He's like a Dominican police captain. Toolbox includes, but not límited to, firearms, shouting, caustic language and phrasing and humiliation tactics. I guess if you're an illegal Haitian who just ripped off some sodas from a Colmado, those tactics may work on you 🤣

Regardless of your online style, you seem knowledgeable and experienced. Emotional IQ of zero, however 🤷‍♂️
So the Personal Attacks come out of the box. You have ZERO knowledge of law and criminal procedure in the DR. NONE............................

Yes (unless they went there again earlier the same night before the resort one - Pinky Lobby)

At 3:38 p.m., Konanki paid a second Venmo user for “coco bongo,” seemingly referencing the popular Punta Cana nightclub — billed as the “hottest nightlife spot in the Dominican Republic.” https://nypost.com/2025/03/14/us-ne...nki-made-venmo-payments-before-disappearance/

Idk, I find these Venmo transactions unsuspicious. It's a 20 year old girl from the US.

Thanks for the comment but I did not lose a minutes sleep over it...........
I ended up putting one in a wheel chair while trying to stick him in the dirt, early 2000's. Never lost a minutes sleep over it either. I think I actually slept better afterwards.

When my good friend up in Cabarete drown in Nov 2021 his body washed up on the beach about 48 hours later. He was so badly decomposed due to the heat and saltwalter that initially they were unable to identify him.

If this young women was pulled into the ocean I do not believe this missing person's case will ever be solved.
I anticipate this thread eventually being closed without conclusion.

The article linked in #675 states "Riibe is under 24-hour surveillance while he remains on the island as of Friday, but is free to head back to the US." I wonder if that is accurate.
