Why would the US need to extradite him? Makes no sense at all..
You have me somewhat confused.
If this young man is in America and the DR wants him, they will most definitely go thru the proper extradition request process
as America WILL NOT just pick him up and stick him on the first plane back down to the Dominican Republic to face whatever
charges they stick him with.

I wouldn't give much credence to these time stamps.
Rarely do clocks in this country display the correct time.
Watches on people's wrist are just as bad if not worse.
In my opinion this demonstrates that they are amateur drinkers. They binged without consideration of consequences.
Easy for us old folks to judge. But I once was a parent of teens. My kids were school leaders and leading athletes. And although what they did in college I am better not knowing, I do. They were arrested. Had car accidents when drunk and ended up at the hospital. And got bad grades. I stopped paying for their classes. They had to take out loans. When one son ended up in the hospital after driving a friend’s car after 4 a.m we brought him home and my husband gave him a job in the steel mill cleaning laborers’ restrooms.
This is how youth learn- and how you and I learned- by logical consequences. I never baled my children out. The had to learn to be accountable for their choices, just like you and I.
And now one son is an executive in Black and Decker Stanley. His twin (the naughty one) is an executive in a large flooring company. And their sister a robotic engineer.
And although in their 40’s they still make mistakes and I do not help.
Sadly the young adults in this case made bad choices just like my kids did, but their choices went wrongs due to the influence of alcohol. (And it did with my kids and could have been much worse, which thank God it was not)
I am sorry for both of them in this Punta Cana drama and I am sorry for their parents.
But as I told my kids- you play with fire, eventually you get burnt.
I think some are forgetting that these were young people on spring break at a resort. Of course there was drinking, etc. IMO this was the result of some actions (drinking, going in the rough ocean at night, etc..) that went wrong in the worst way. Unfortunately, these things happen.
Likely way to drunk to kill someone (unless driving drunk). And who would stay at the scene of the crime for 4-5 hours? He was hammered and slept on a beach chair until 10:00 AM.
My kids had the opportunity to mature and learn and use their assets to be successful. This young woman was to be a doctor the man was also in the university studying to be something.
Sad that their bad decisions will not give them the opportunity the were working towards.

Kids today grow up in a world very different from the one we grew up in. They‘re saturated with technology that keeps a lot of them detached from the reality of life and the consequences of their actions. Many are constantly in the pursuit of instant gratification.
This was an intelligent attractive young lady from an affluent powerful family with a very bright future ahead of her. it’s likely she made bad decisions before this but was lucky enough to escape the consequences of her actions. This time her luck ran out. Tragic and preventable, but predictable, given the circumstances.
No family I know gives a young man a pass for dumping a body and trying to forget it like a bad hangover.
Everyone is clearly entitled to their own theories and opinions. Normal folks understand this is a life fundemental. But there is some wording above that appears as if some have sealed this young lady's fate, specifically, she made poor choices, got drunk, entered rough waters and drowned.
We all don't have to share points of views or opinions, so healthy debate is part of life. It all depends on one's delivery and tone.

My man KM, this family is destroyed! While I don't live at the foot of the cross this young bloke will never be the same either.
My gut will never not tell me that an innocent man would, after that dramatic wave and rescue story he recanted where he didn't remember when he woke up nor think about the girl, walk to his room and not go directly to the front desk to report the incident. No amount of drug, alcohol or magic fairy dust would let me pass right by the front desk and sleep it off.
The fact that the AG personally interviewed him speaks to how high the stakes have become.
I'd like to see her with some cojones and remand the kid to at least 3 months pending investigation if solely based on his multiple storylines and highly suspicious act of not reporting the incident to the front desk and decision to sleep off the day. If YBR lets him go it will be a real slap in the face to the family whose daughter has yet to reappear. Again just my take. Innocent people tell one story and report drownings or even possible drownings immediately.

Plus I find it Hard to believe that when he woke up on the beach he did not see her Clothes still there ? , he thought this was perfectly normal and she just walked off .. without her Clothes ?
No matter how hungover you are., these are not the Actions of a Sane, normal person to just casually go back to the Room without even a care .
Then Add the fact that his Clothes and shoes are missing , and it just gets even thicker .
And I can guarantee that the adrenaline rush from trying to save yourself and another from drowning, no matter what drug or how much you've drank, even if you'd been on a one week bender, would wake your stoned a** up faster than a 10mg bolus of epinephrine.

He has a lot of red flags from his actions, no doubt. Whatever decision she makes will not please everyone, but she has to make the best decision for the family, justice and the DR.
He didn't witness an incident to report. You people have gone full blown Duke Lacrosse from 20 years ago.
