RystyT, this same poster repeatedly called me a liar when I told of a black friend of mine, who is Dominican, complete with cedula, who was locked up several times, although I am pleased to say she was not beaten up or raped. My response to him was much the same - you have no idea what goes on in the real DR, being more interested in "fine dining".
Unfortunately you can't have it both ways (support deportation and then complain about the consequences).

Stick to your hors d'oeuvres and strippers please, how can you possibly say that a woman that you have never met lied about being raped and beaten up. I know the idea that women can be abused, raped, sex trafficked etc doesn't suit your narrative, but trust me this stuff happens way too frequently.
I wonder if they are going to go to the Chinese hardware shops on Duarte con Ovando (in the capital) those places are 100% full of Haitian workers. You could probably fill up a couple of trucks in one of those shops alone.

This is a problem in many of these undocumented Haitian communities along the north coast (Sosua being ground zero) and yet another reason I fully support their removal.
You two should get together and produce a soap opera. I will not watch as I enjoy the Discovery channel, The science channel and 90-day fiancé.
If only you knew how far from the truth that is. If ever a girl loved men it was me. I do however think it would be reasonably easy to hate the types of men who think that women are there to be bought, that prostitutes love their work and are never trafficked, that any woman who says she was raped must obviously be lying, and so on and so on.
I don't disagree with their removal. But this has to be more than cosmetic if they are going to do it. No allowing the resorts and the construction companies to employ armies of Haitians because they are owned by someone important. And it has to be done humanely, any police accepting bribes to let people go free should be locked up, no question.

No Maria, I think what he is trying to say is the story posted was not true, never happened, etc... Not that a woman lied.
The story was fiction, similar to the "Saw" movie series. In reference to the girls that work at the gentleman's clubs, I have never seen bars on the windows of the clubs or chains on their ankles. On the contrary. I have seen them shopping in the city and at the supermarket. It does pain many that woman can make significant money with little talent and just being attractive, friendly and entertaining. I know it bothers you however not all can be chemical engineers, nurses and business owners.
Ah ok, thanks for the explanation. Does seem like a funny thing to make up though, to say that someone was raped and assaulted. But I will let it roll.
