this russian guys sell maps stolen from me and from ola, they are nothing but criminals, most of the maps they have are mines, and you can download them for absolutely FREE in my website.

Neptuno,

I'm sorry to hear this! This is BS. You did work a lot with this project and offer them free for the public and some scumbag steals it from you and selling it for $$$.
You are very kind to offer them for free but I'm pretty sure it cost you $, time, etc... so even thought you do not sell them, you should enable a "donation" option on your site - as many developers do- I'm pretty sure that people would appreciate your work on this area and donate some $, I would.

dominicana.cc is not accurate!

If you look at the site Dominicana GPS Map they also offer different maps at different price points. If you want a true GPS map of Santo Domingo, then you need to get the Ola version.

I purchased and installed the FULL Dominicana.cc map and I can tell you that it is NOT accurate. (Verified for Jarabacoa area for sure!)

From my mapping experience, it seems like they just took a whole bunch of random GPS tracks (from tourists?) and pasted them into a big file... yes they have a LOT of streets and waypoints... but a WHOLE BUNCH of the streets / paths DO NOT EVEN EXIST... some 'roads' are just errors or just random wanderings of the person who was using the GPS that captured the tracks (unedited in a smooth 'street' line.)

I am in the process of asking for my money back for the map. I told them I would rather have a map with LESS detail if it was more ACCURATE.

I bit the bullet on the above map and it is hit or miss it does not have smaller cities like Tenares or some resort areas. Juan Dolio is missing. However a new city is being added to the map every month.

You should check as you might be able to get free updates.

Would you mind sharing a copy of your purchased map? I'd like to evaluate it ;)

I wonder if anyone has been able to make these Chinese car head units work with a map from the DR? The ones that I have seen seem to run WinCE, so in theory it should work.

I had a play with one and the problem was that you have to have the navigation software and the maps on the same memory card. I gave up after a while and went with a Garmin unit that worked out of the box, but these Chinese units which are half th price could be a little money spinner for someone who could get them to work.
