I kno
We are flying down YYZ - POP Jan.4. For 2 weeks have been attempting the E-ticket on our laptop, using Chrome but nothing wants to work for us. Only a couple of drop down menus show up, won't add the 2nd passenger and then it might kick me out for taking too long. Suggestions por favor Evelyn.
w this is late but for future people use microsoft edge. Had the same problem and this worked fine.

Some have said that changing the page language to Spanish has helped with the menus if you can do that. When I tried to get the form to work in English, it wouldn't one day but worked fine the next. Welcome to the DR. Suggestion: For drop down menus click on the line that appears on the screen not where you think the box of options should appear.

No free Covid tests for departure at the moment, there's a newly installed Bournigal lab tent, and they can provide quick test for departure passengers, at a cost (Rapid Antigen Test costs DOP2,000 or US$35) This is a last resource option, it's recommended you bring your test before arriving to the airport.
Are there free covid tests available at pop?

The new President has appointed me as the new manager of the airport customs area (DGA) here in Puerto Plata (POP). Our new goal is to make the airport more user friendly, tourists orientated and a pleasure to use.

My background is college in the USA and for the last 22 years administration villa management of SeaHorse Ranch here the the Sosua-Cabarete area. Many of you already know me.

Hopefully we can all work together to accomplish these goals at the airport.

First, I welcome all arriving passengers to ask for me personally (to know me or help with problems), second if anyone has ….

1.) ideas to improve the airport customs
2.) report here any problems (be it operational, rudeness, or improper behavior)
3.) general comments to help me (us) and improve tourism to the North Coast.

You can write here. I’m aware of the past problems and the biggest complaint (expensive airport fares) and although above my pay grade, I have the ear of the new president. Let’s see.

Thank you for your time and looking forward to hearing (meeting) you. You now have a friend at the airport customs.

Good evening Ms. Evelyn,

Please excuse my questions if they have previously been answered as well as my ignorance in DR protocols for flying into the country, but my wife and I usually travel by boat. My wife is a Dominican citizen flying from Aruba to Miami and then home to POP the first week of March.

Would you please explain what documents she will need upon arrival due to COVID as well as the expiration of said documents.

Thank You in advance..

Evelyn, please try to restore flights direct from the UK to Puerto Plata airport. It has become a nightmare fighting to get a flight via the States or Europe and has helped destroy the tourist industry in the North of the island. The British love Puerto Plata and as far as Samana. but have given up hope. Those living in the North of the RD have such problems getting back. Thanks

I think Evelyn is looking for ideas to better the airport experience rather give flight information

Riva is the best at the info

The porters would improve their service (and tips) if they did the 'heavy lifting'
The important thing here is awareness and hopefully she’ll pass this to the right authority so we can be supported.

Hello!

You won't need to bring any special document because of COVID, all you need is your valid passport (not expiring within 6 months of entry) and to fill your e-ticket (this replaces all handwritten forms) you can fill your e-ticket at: https://eticket.migracion.gob.do/

No test is required to enter the country, ramdon tests are performed at entry, they are free and don't take more than a few minutes.

However to go back to the USA you will need a negative COVID test not prior to 72 hours before departure. Price for these tests vary from $30 and up. you can use any certified lab (many options).

Hello!

Yes, we know it's not easy right now, we're trying our best to re-stablish flights asap to make things easier for visitors.

Just read all the posts in this thread and am very impressed. The President made a good choice.
Ken, just so you know, I know a lot of people in the govt. here who would impress you just as much.

Sharp educated folks who do an excellent job in their posts.

I'm sorry, but was this program not postponed until 1 April?

I did the e-ticket in January coming back. It s an absolute beauty , I hate having to fill out novels since I have to fill out for me and the kids.
I did take a screenshot of the #confirmation number and bar code, but it seems they could find me in the system.

I felt sorry for the peasants with their paper forms :ROFLMAO:

That's correct, both the e-ticket and hadwritten forms will be accepted until 31 March, with "e-ticket only" starting April 1, howerver, we're encouraging all passengers to switch to e-ticket since last december.

The Monday flyby SDQ to JFK was packed. Six across. Forget about the middle seat is empty. That became a thing of the past. Not a seat to be had.

Hello, and thank you again for the information you provided. I'm writing this just for your information, but the "eticket" form doesn't all work.. At the end it asks for "Compania de Transporte". and it will not accept anything or let you move on.. We tried several combinations including American Airlines, Taxi, Taxi de Puerto Plata, Caribe Tour, Taxi Privado, with no success.. NO big deal as Gabriela has no problems just filling out the forms when she arrives.. I just though you may wish to know our experience.
