Kinda sorta almost resigned:

Close to a resignation, but no cigar....
You are a bit late with your version. He has resigned...........

Amid chaos and gang violence in Haiti, Ariel Henry agrees to resign as prime minister

Haiti's embattled Prime Minister Ariel Henry agreed to resign late Monday following days of mounting pressure, as the last vestiges of law and order in the Caribbean country have collapsed.

Henry, who is stranded in Puerto Rico, made the announcement in a video address. Heavily armed gangs have taken control of and attacked the country's infrastructure, including Haiti's only international airport.

I want to thank the Haitian people for the opportunity I had been granted," he said in his address. "I'm asking all Haitians to remain calm and do everything they can for peace and stability to come back as fast as possible

Nope , not late at all.

Henry said he would stay in his post until a transitional council is created and an interim premier named. An advisor to the prime minister did not return a message for comment on how long that might take.

From your article SKY. As I said close but no cigar on the resignation.

I wouldn’t put much value to anything Henry says about a changing administration where he is suppose to leave. He is the president of Haiti, but largely illegitimate as most Haitians never voted for him and Haiti was suppose to have elections which has been cancelled. Hence, Henry is still in power.

How can you be in power and be exiled simultaneously? BBQ and Phillipe are in power now, regardless of Henry's blustering.

This Monday the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince looked calm, but there were new threats from the coalition of armed gangs Vivre Ensemble (Living Together), which rejected the negotiations of the international community to find a way out of the serious crisis that is shaking the country. .
Stating that his coalition is "launching a battle to free (the country) from the clutches of traditional politicians and corrupt oligarchs", the gang's powerful boss, Jimmy Cherizier, alias 'Barbecue', called on the international community to "give Haiti a chance."
"What is happening in the country depends on us, Haitians, to decide who should lead the country, what form of government we want and how we are going to get the country out of the misery in which it finds itself," declared 'Barbecue' in a press conference after a show of force at its base in the capital.
The Caribbean Community (Caricom) and the United States insisted this Monday on the need to accelerate a political transition in Haiti and deploy a multinational force, to which Washington committed an additional 100 million dollars.
At the end of the meeting, held in Kingston, the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, the current president of Caricom and president of Guyana, Irfaan Ali, and the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, showed themselves " optimistic."

THE GANGS WOULD TAKE OVER

According to 'Barbecue', if the international community continues along this line, it will plunge Haiti into chaos, by leading a small group of traditional politicians to elect a president and the government model for the country.
"Today it is clear that it is the people of the popular neighborhoods and the Haitian people in general who know what they are going through. It is these same people who must take their destiny in their hands to choose their leaders and how to direct them," he added. 'Barbecue' surrounded by escorts.
The former police officer stated that the people "who are going to run this country", through their coalition of armed men, demand that the Haitian people elect their leaders. And that these leaders will ensure that their wives and children are in the country.
To this he added: "It is the Vivre Ensemble coalition, together with the Haitian people, that will elect the person who will lead the country. We do not need all the ministries that exist. In the new government, many ministries will be eliminated."

VOWS TO TEAR DOWN THE SYSTEM

"Today we are going to overthrow an entire system (...). The system that exists is based on apartheid, a perverse system," added 'Barbecue', who urged the Police to stop fighting against them.
"With the misery of the people, people cannot come and share power as if it were a cake. People cannot rush to take the reins by making proposals. Where have they been all this time?" he continued.
The leader of the gang issued a warning to the multinational force for the security of Haiti, approved last October by the United Nations.

"We are not afraid. We are not afraid of anyone. We are in the weapons business. These are the weapons we carry. We were born one day, we will die one day," he warned.
"No one can scare us, making us believe that they are going to hunt us in our own country. We are children of (Jean-Jacques) Dessalines. When our ancestors fought for our independence they called us terrorists, just like today," he said.

WILL ATTACK HOTELS

In his press conference, the gang leader promised to attack the country's hotels.
"We have not come here to lie to the people and tell them that we are making a peaceful revolution. We are not making a peaceful revolution. We are making a bloody revolution in the country," he declared.
"To all the hotel managers who take the malicious pleasure of hiding traditional politicians, we are reaching them little by little," he said, citing the names of well-known hotels that usually accommodate foreigners.
'Barbecue' expanded its threat. "We will solve this 'problem' by all means."
"Woe to any hotel that hides a traditional politician who has collaborated with (Haitian Prime Minister) Ariel Henry!" he threatened.

Colonialism created the two island Nations on Hispaniola.

Current affairs go back to more recent history.

The assassination of Jovenel Moïse .
Followed by the rise and fall of Ariel Henry.

Causes reach into the shadow wolds of government security agencies, destabilization of governments, installation of preferred governments,
Drug cartels and money laundering.

The history of the first link is interesting.
It shows how things are connected reaching back involving several countries.
The DR connected to Haiti, US, Columbia.

One can do their own research to arrive at conclusions what factual reality is.

Both Recent Haitian Presidents were victims of circumstance and current time.

Ariel’s resignation is a good sign but don’t expect instant results like a decline in violence. Still no plans from the UN on how the transitional government will be set up, who will be members, and what will replace it. Any transitional government will require intervention forces to keep it in power until a proper election can be called and still no UN intervention commitment.

Ariel’s stepping down won’t reduce the violence as long as wild cards like Barbeque maintain power at gunpoint. As strange as it seems, the longer the violence continues, potentially the more credible Barbecue becomes. He’s getting international media coverage, he has an armed following, and he is powerful enough to demand and get Ariel’s resignation. He became the voice of those who wanted Ariel gone. He’s mouthing the standard revolutionary mantra and justifying it by claiming he is on a mission to save his country like his historical predecessors. If the UN ever commits to an intervention, I wonder if he will be smart enough to finagle a position of power on the transitional government and put his name forward in the following general elections. A good way to save his own skin and suck up political power in the political vacuum in Haiti. A mini me Putin. Stranger things have happened.

It’s going to be a long time until the fat lady sings in Haiti, years not months, and a lot more moves on the political chess board will happen before she sings. Even Nostradamus would have a hard time figuring out the end result of the Haitian internal conflict.

Once again the Kenyans are putting more conditions on their proposed intervention in Haiti. They announced today that their 1000 police force members will not set foot on Haitian soil until a provisional government is in place and functioning. That’s a catch 22 situation. A provisional government can only function if there is an intervention force to support them. This puts the onus clearly on the UN to resolve the issue. They may have to look elsewhere for sacrificial lambs to send to Haiti.

Haiti Is quickly becoming a bad taste in the mouths of the Kenyans. I suspect they are looking for ways to bow out of the intervention initiative. They now realize that a force of only 1000 will quickly get chewed up and spit out by the uncontrollable violence.

The recent history in Haiti is riddled with Mafia-Gang style operations.

To change the mind set to a real democratic government for the good of the people seems almost impossible.
Haitians for Haitians.

The billions needed to re-build the country and to install infrastructure and institutions will be hard to come by.
Another needless crisis created by humans, one of many.

Real suffering, sad to see in many parts of the world.

World War II shook the wold up.

The UN created in 1945 to maintain international peace and security.
The organization of 193 sovereign states have become a cesspool of personal political interests and blocks of countries.
Reform is sorely needed.

The few democracies in the world are under threat of hybrid and cyber wars.
Boots on the ground are the last defence.
There are only so many resources that can be directed to finance defence and to financial help for countries in crisis.

We will see what international resolutions will be met and how much money will be spend on Haiti.

"General Assembly resolutions usually require a simple majority (50 percent of all votes plus one) to pass. However, if the General Assembly determines that the issue is an "important question" by a simple majority vote, then a two-thirds majority is required; "important questions" are those that deal significantly with the maintenance of international peace and security"
