Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé has appointed Colombian-Haitian national Wooldy Edson Louidor as the new ambassador to the Dominican Republic. Louidor is a renowned researcher and professor at Colombia’s Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. As reported, he is well-respected within the Haitian diaspora. He is an expert on migration issues, with published research carried out on Colombian and Venezuelan as well as Haitian and Dominican migration.
At the time of his appointment, he was the director of the Master’s program in Critical Studies of Contemporary Migrations at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. He has been a professor in the Department of Philosophy and History of Law at the Pontifical Universidad Javeriana and at the Faculty of Sociology at the Universidad Santo Tomás.
