A few moments ago a masked Haitian group violently penetrated de CODEVI free trade zone in Dajabón. It’s right on the border with a couple of entrances on the Haiti side and the DR sides. The masked men entered through the Haitian side. The Dominican military and from the National Police quickly reacted. So far there are 7 injuries and countless damages. The binational market has been suspended.

While the Haitian group was able to penetrate into the CODEVI property, the Dominican military and National Police prevented the group from exiting on the Dominican entries/exits.

Listen right through to minute 16 when all the internationals start talking about "Haitian led"
Of course - the MONTANA group are all the intelligentsia - Middle Class - teachers etc...
And Can Not fire guns or anything
And are probably NOT crooks
YET
So they will NEED those 22,000 troops to oust this current corrupt governemnt
AND GET RID of the GANGS
(Who represent about 95% of the people -most likely)
and those 60 men to train the police
so that they can issue NEW identity Cards and Hold a REAL election
They propose Three Years in power
By which time, of course, those who are sitting in power
Will become corrupted

Since - the Haitians are SHOCKED by the number of people who are collecting salaries equal to US $2500 on the payroll of the "Presidency" and vow to check the CVs and projects of every one of them.

If the CORE group would just stay out of it.. and let the Haitians ACTUALLY take care of it..
They know who the crooks are
THE REAL CROOKS are RUNNING THE COUNTRY

Putting in a "Haitian Front" of
pencil pushers
is not going to change a damn thing

really stupid
really pitiful
really shameful

I would welcome an international military force to take over Haiti, eliminate the gangs and restore some semblance of order. If it means killing criminals I am OK with that but it seems too many bleeding hearts think criminals (in many countries) have more rights than people trying to live by proper civilized and honest rules.
It seems the world is slowly descending into chaos and this will breed some authoritarian government crackdowns where freedoms will be lost

The Free Trade Zone is not actually in the DR but actually IN HAITI - on a blip of land that is on the DR side of the Massacre. It was built with World Bank money to take advantage of the protection of the DR military protect and the low legal minimum wage of Haitians. https://www.adrianoplegroup.com/post/the-codevi-free-zone
I've been there many times. My concern is shutting down the open markets on the DR side. If that is done, so many who rely on it for the commerce and their livelihoods will be adversely affected. This worries me a ton.

The only way to meet force is with equal or greater force.
On this we are complete agreement my DR1 brother.

Unfortunately, outside force from a state actor cannot just come in and regulate things.
If you just do that and then leave the same problems emerge.
If you are state actor you must engage in nation building.
Tough Job.

I am in favor of a business coalition utilizing a group of PMCs to take over and then run the country overtly as the first country that is overtly governed by corporations.

There is absolutely NO state actor who is going to make up for the FACT that Haitians are robbing Haitians.
They set the minimum wage for export workers in free trade zones at $4.23 a DAY

One can not simply Keep 99% of the population in abject poverty
and expect them to remain silent
You are keeping it straight 💯 and on 🎯
We are in complete agreement.

Within a corporate structure all citizens would be employees of the company.
It would behove the corporate management to pay a living wage to all of their employees.
Profits could even be shared at the highest levels of the company.
And plans for social security of some type.
Complete cradle to grave care.

It's worth a shot. Nothing else has worked so far. I would add though they should do the death penalty for corruption.

Complete agreement ⬆️ I think outside the box. Bothers some up in here.

Corporations cannot be killed.
So they should not be allowed to kill their citizens.
Only citizens of the newly formed corporate country (and the initial investors) should be allowed to buy shares in the country.
Those who engage in corruption could be fired from the corporate/government positions, their share confiscated and serve a sentence in the corporate/government entity penal colony performing hard labor for their fellow citizens and the corporate/government entity.

I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT you are talking about. -- CORPORATE STRUCTURE???
The biggest Corporatie owners in Haiti are some of the biggest crooks - politicians - lottery - importers -- a FEW are artists.. https://moneyinc.com/richest-people-haiti/

Corportations paid the gangs for protection

This is simply an absurd concept --
as far as I can see...
Corporations are only responsible to their shareholders.
Are you suggesting some sort of socialism? That has not been a roaring success. Anywhere.

Capitalism is not socialism.
And I am suggesting capitalism.

A corporate take over of the entire country by force using a PMC and then running it as a corporate entity.
If all citizens are given a share in the country then they will be allowed to elect a board of directors who will then appoint a chairman and the Board will select the top officers to run the country/corporation.
Just because an individual does not understand the concept does not mean it is absurd.
It simply means they either disagree or have not taken the time to contemplate the idea.
And that individual needs to tell me how is a corporate structure in reality any different from a government structure.

"Corporate governance is the system by which companies are directed and controlled. Boards of directors are responsible for the governance of their companies. The shareholders’ role in governance is to appoint the directors and the auditors and to satisfy themselves that an appropriate governance structure is in place.

The responsibilities of the board include setting the company’s strategic aims, providing the leadership to put them into effect, supervising the management of the business and reporting to shareholders on their stewardship.

Corporate governance is therefore about what the board of a company does and how it sets the values of the company, and it is to be distinguished from the day to day operational management of the company by full-time executives.
"

What I find most interesting is that in reality I am doing exactly what the world is doing (and that is nothing).
I am not sitting in a Big Chair that would allow me to implement any of the ideas that I have.
I don't even know if it would be worth it financially to take over Haiti.
I would need much more information and research from people who are much smarter than me and know these things.

I do know that if I was sitting in the Big Chair of a state entity I would not place a single life of any of my citizens in danger to help Haiti.

Even through I do not sit in a Big Chair it should not be hard to see from the tone and content of my posts that I simply do not care what anyone thinks about what I post in the Haiti threads or anywhere else in DR1
