Earlier today (Nov 15, 2022) Politur arrested a Haitian in Sosúa Beach. The event was caught on tape as he resisted the arrest. The reason for the arrest are unknown for now. The guy was screaming why was he arrested while it was taking place, so maybe not even him knew the reason.

It appears the people that videotaped the arrested were Haitian themselves judging by what they speak, but they could had been from somewhere else. They spoke in a language that was not Spanish or English.

This is why tazers should be used. The police here are way too tolerant in most cases and lack training.

Why would this tape be posted here?? And why the racist commentary ?? My suggestion is that it was posted to solicit the normal Haitian hate comments that have absolutely no place in a civilised community. The problems that Haitians face are what they our neighbours face and we must try just a little harder to Love our Neighbours as Ourselves. Even if it is uncomfortable for us to do so.

What are you talking about? There isn't a single racist comment on this thread. You are not the police, and they have a job to do. Their job is to enforce the laws, not love their neighbors, who just happen to be breaking laws.

I will never understand how people that have no police training think they can comment on police actions.
They do not know proper police procedure and techniques.

What was he doing in order to be arrested ? Could be anything as simple as being browsing around in the beach maybe bothering tourist or locals, could be for prostitution too who knows.
Not only girls I've seen males offering prostitution service s in Sosua.

I suppose we can speculate all we want about why he was arrested.
And that would include being falsely accused of something now wouldn't it ❓

This post caught my attention. I was curious to see the action. I am not in a position to judge, just being entertained by the interaction. Something i have not witnessed personally in the DR. The commentary positive or negative, also makes for good discussion......2 cents...

I will never understand why people resist arrest. It's going to happen, and they are just making it worse for themselves.
Last time I visited Sosua I saw something similar, the police was chasing a Haitian girl who was riding a Pasola without placa, without any documentation.
The pursue ended right inside of a private area of the building where I was, when we heard laud screamings we thought someone was abusing or killing a girl, I ran down stairs to the back yard to find out that it was the police trying arrest a Haitian girl.
They finally sorted out the situation and left.
happens every day over there.

I was expecting the response, it is always the same ..if you can not see that the commentary did not say just a man or even a dark skinned man but it deliberately said it was a Haitian although there is no evidence that he was Haitian and in fact he was saying porque which is Spanish.no porquoi which is French ..one step further is that deliberately tries to link the filming with Haitians although there is absolutely no evidence. The video goes to lengths to try to get the viewers to believe that this single man who resisted being arrested was Haitian .. and how do you identify a Haitian..dark skin!!

He is clearly a Haitian speaking Kreole then saying "Porque" with a noticible accent.
