And to all of the other U.S. citizens here on the board.

I got an email from Family Search today that blew me away.

On the website, clicking on any one of the pictures shows the family tree back to that point in history.

Fascinating stuff!!

Happy 4th of July!

(If anyone wants to see my links to one of them, let me know and I'll post it.)

I wanna see your George Harrison and/or Charles Darwin relationship.

On edit: ...or Henry David Thoreau and/or Mark Twain.

Just one of those, please.

I'm sure Saunders would like to see your relationship to Tricky Dick and Lindbergh, and is probably disappointed Ayn Rand and Pinochet are not on the list.

All due respect for JD, but I have a hard time believing this. Maybe I am just "old school"...........
Have to take it with a grain of salt for sure, after all, the information is entered by persons who may or may not be honest about their families.
Then again, it' supposed to be taken from existing historical records, so who's to say?

I know my information is accurate as far as 6 generations because of the footwork my oldest brother did years ago, before the internet was a thing.

JD, if you are related to each of these US presidents, by extension it would seem logical they were all related to each other. That does seem hard to believe. Maybe post a couple of those lineages and perhaps we can see that link

I think in the USA it could be more difficult to believe, but in the DR anyone that has been Dominican after a few generations is related to like half the country. Reminds me of what Ramfis Domínguez Trujillo once said, that everyone notes he descend from Trujillo but hardly anyone realizes he is also genetically related to (I think) Juan Isidro Jiménez, another ex-president of the DR.

Well, whenever some unknown person pops up related to me though distant, most of the times Santiago is somewhere as one of the places of origin of a part of their families. It has lead me to believe that most people from Santiago since colonial times have a high chance we are distant cousins. Lol. A lot of DR presidents were from the Cibao, even the current Abinader who’s maternal family line goes back to Santiago. One of his daughters popped up as one of my distant cousins. I’m taking a wild guess where the connection is from. ;)

What is July 4 without the yearly Nathan's Coney Island hot dog eating contest. Starts at 12 Noon live on Spanish ESPN 2 here. Don't miss it............

After thorough and in-depth research, I found my first ancestors.
Lol

That was thousands of years ago and there is the “missing link.” Maybe 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000001% percent of your DNA comes directly from some monkey. Not quite the strength as say with great-great-grandparents (which already are quite distant, in fact chances are high anyone doesn’t looks like most of their great-great-grandparents, considering no one knows or knew a single great-great-grandparent.)

I believe it. I’ve been doing genealogy for many decades. No one famous or infamous in my ancestry. Not one. Mr AE has some well known Dominican ancestors on his mother’s side.

My daughter-in-law’s tree is like JD’s. Books were written about some of them. One of them bought the city of Princeton from William Penn. I lost track of Revolution and Civil War officers, and Declaration of Independence signers. And Elvis was her distant cousin. And Aaron Burr.

Happy Fourth of July!

The winner ate 58 Hot Dogs in 10 minutes. But far off the World Record of Joey Chestnut at 76 in 2021..............

Just a reminder. The Familysearch website is completely free. No CC's, no hidden charges, nuttin'.

The only reason for not looking yourself up is because you don't want to.
