The Superior Administrative Court ordered the revoking of the permit the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) had granted on 11 August 2020 to Abrisa Group for the construction of the Bavaro International Airport, just 24 km away from the Punta Cana International Airport. The court considered the construction harmful to the general interest.
The court suspended the authorization for the construction and supervision of the Bavaro International Airport project on grounds that procedure deadlines were not met and technical reports were not deposited.
It also points out that the Bávaro International Airport project did not comply with the accreditation of the property titles where the airport would be located.
