I may have missed this info from a previous post....
I know there is a bar on the beach. Is food served there and if so, do you know what is on that menu?

Do they have a 'beach party', and if so which night is it?

Just a quick note to say thanks to planner, all of her time devoted to this site has been much appreicated.
Question: I have an adjoining family room booked with my sister and her family for a week. I called signature vacations and they verified this. Is there still a chance we could end up in a standard room? Do you know planner?

"was told whilst staying there that there is someone who works for First choice that visits this site and tells people that the hotel is improving etc well if this is so then i have got ONE MESSAGE for you--the hotel is falsely advertised and telling people that it is improving and advising people not to take it out on the Reps etc is below the belt.The hotel doesn't come close to a 3 star nevermind a 4 star! To the person who posted this: I have said it before and I will say it ONE more time. I do not work for the hotel or either of the Tour Operators. I report what I actually see and hear and what I think is correct. IF you disagree with me that is your right. What is or is not false advertising is not for me to say. I have absolutely NO vested interest other then helping out.

On to more important things: 2 good looking guys - you are on!!! Yes please, I would love a newspaper and we can enjoy a cold one. Dancing - honey I know almost ALL of them! My specialty is salsa but I will dance everything (except reggaeton cause that is not dancing)

Cots - I have no idea if they are comfortable, what I might like you might hate.

The Acua lounge is just between the reception area and the main pool bar. IT is truly stunning. And lots of TV's to watch the games.

Planner I really do not want to be rude here as you are doing an absolutely fantastic job. I do not want any hard feelings but feel this needs to be said. You have told us to keep wedding matters private yet I feel this is appropriate to this thread as there are quite a few people getting married there and do need the help. The information is helping a lot of people.

Can I just add that how much of the thread has been bogged with chocolate, newspaper, books and meeting up? Are these not pm matters.

Sorry if I have offended you but just thought this needed to be pointed out!

Unfortunately with all the bad reviews we have been recieving we decided to switch hotels to bahia principle. The killer was the overflowing toilets/ sewage problem, people getting sick and hurt, and lack of hot water.

Sorry to hear that you guys have jumped ship, I was looking forward to meeting you. I personally am concentrating on the GOOD reviews and plan to make my own opinions keeping in mind that some people just want to complain.... and do!

As for us, we are sticking with the HVGB. Maybe we can copare notes when you get back. Enjoy your holiday!!

I got my travel Doc's from my travel agent and I looked it says my room accommodation is Holiday Village Deluxe - which means Adults only basically. I am not sure why they travel agent is giving you such as hard time. We had to pay more the adult only section but I am sure it is worth it. Who ever is the hard ass between the two of you should call the agent and go directly to the supervisor and if that does not work their supervisor. lol if you need help I am excellent at the art of Bitch!

ohhh you got the hottub!! we are sans hot tub but in the adult area and we leave on the 8th so we shall see you there! Where are you flying out of? age? we are coming from TO we are both 26, you have to hook up with snowolf she and her new hubby are on their honey moon! party time for sure!

Awesome!! well you won't be able to miss me, I got a one of a kind gift from costa rica (my last trip in the sun) two sergical scars on my right ankle! Now if I was hospitalized on that trip I am sure HV will do me just fine! see you later gators!

We will be there from the 8th till the 22nd. Look forward to seeing all of you that will be there. We'll be in the master suites. I have stayed in the Dominican in a few resorts, all of them had the same problems. We've had leaky toilets, toilests you have to flush many times to get the job done, lack of hot water etc. Plus we have all always had great drinks, always found something to eat that we liked, the beach was super, and the sun wonderful, and great company from around the world. Here we come HVGB!!

we shall compare notes for sure when we return..we discovered the problem was that the deluxe rooms are all sold out for our week 10-17th of feb. this is why they were being so hard..y they couldnt tell us this from the beginnning ill never know..

Can I just please set the record straight I am not trying to stir the pot. Planner has been absolutely fantastic and has helped me a lot.

I just think I have a fair point in saying that the wedding information is vauluable to this sight. A lot of us are getting married at hvgb and are struggling. It is not an easy task.

Sorry if I have offended but I felt quite offended. This is probalbly the most important day of our lives.

i understand what point you was trying to make,
this topic is the holiday village this also includes weddings in the resort does it not.
to me people can talk about hockey, books, chocolate, school supplies, dancing, papers, weddings i am not bothered as this gives you an idea of what people you might end up meeting on your holiday .
no offence to planner was intended on the post by grogan, just a bit of double standards.
