Interior and Police Minister Faride Raful had the satisfaction to announce a record low in the homicide rate to 7.7 per 100,000 residents during the weekly press conference on Monday, 10 February 2025. This is down from the previous record low of 8.4 last month.
During a press conference following the 78th meeting on the Citizen Security Plan, led by President Luis Abinader, Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, reported that six regions have had no homicide victims from 1 January to 10 February 2025.
Raful emphasized the efforts of law enforcement in reducing deaths from gender-based violence and social conflicts.
Regarding noise pollution, the Minister announced that interventions will continue under the “Operation Peace Guarantee” program to enforce Law 90-19, which aims to prevent and limit noise pollution.
