You can fix the problem with lifting the door out of frame in about 5 minutes......just tap a few holes inside along the top rail and screw in some flat/pan head metal screws....adjust them so the door can't be lifted up. As far as sliding goes, just a piece of wood [cut broom handle works fine] dropped in the bottom track will prevent that.Gringo said:Most sliding glass doors can very easely be lifted right out of the track....I know I can lift mine out with no problem, I suggest bars with a lock on left and right sides...( Just for peace of mind )
I live just down the street from you in a very good area and sleep well with mine locked up at night. Also for me a 9mm in the night table works well.
Hi Billie - don't know about gun...don't live there. But there've been recent threads on the subject that you can look up. If you don't know how to use a firearm, recommend some lessons. Also, if you aren't prepared to immediately hurt the shix out of the other guy, don't get one. He might just take it away and use it on you.Billie said:Very easy and inexpensive to use the screws. The broom handle is a good idea. Is it easy to get a gun here without being a citizen? Thanks for the tip Billie
