how long for customs clearance

I mean NEVER, NEVER use UPS or FedEx. Why? I once used FedEx and took over two months to get my package delivered over stupid duty fee which I already paid. I was paid twice. Lucky I was able to get the 2nd refunded. Next time, use the cargo services like BM Cargo or EPS, etc. They works very well.

I don't, guess I find out. All I know is Amazon added that onto my price.

It sounds to me like aduanas is waiting for Amazon to pay them(?). I didn't know that Amazon even did international shipping to the DR.

Only $72.63 for FedEx? That's very cheap. Amazon must have a special deal with them. $742.38 for taxes and duty fees is a killer.

Eeryday you learn something. But 820$ for Shipping and Tax, you can fly there to bring it home and still have some $ left.

BM Cargo has told me that, if I'm ever shipping anything over $200, let them know ahead of time because they can negotiate lower taxes and fees with aduanas. Shipping would be much less than FedEx, too.

Works for us too .After getting burned by Aduana once... or trice😬 ...in the early days...we now just step aside and let the courier handle everything...todo..todo...todo....even if we have to tip the courier "extra".....

Had to get some brand new parts for Miesposa's car....very expensive...not available in DR ..told the courier in advance...they gave an estimated price + tax ...they have a tax lady who deals with Aduana all day ....everyday....so we don't have to ...gave her a generous tip when we got the parts.

I don't know about the other couriers but with BM Cargo customs clearance has never taken more than 24 hours.

Works for us too .After getting burned by Aduana once... or trice😬 ...in the early days...we now just step aside and let the courier handle everything...todo..todo...todo....even if we have to tip the courier "extra".....
