How Messy Is It At The Airport On Christmas Day?

How bad is the situation at the airport going through customs and immigration on Christmas Day?

Any advice will be appreciated...but no funny comments, please! :bandit:

hey buddy...
some tips when u arrive.......

if u come with wife, family, kids... take em outside, have most of ur carry on stuff outside too....
Lots of bags???.... cart and BE VERY PATIENT at the belt there you will have a pretty hard time........

It WILL be very hectic but........ at least youll be here!!!!!!!

First of all, I'm not YOUR BUDDY...

Do you realize that you have less than 100 posts? Please, when you answer a thread, verify your facts before being so negative and nasty!:angry:

I'm a woman, going to see my fiance, Tony, and believe me...I don't travel like most Dominican people do... (AZB...had to throw that in there just for you!:bandit: )

Only one checked bag, and one carry-on...and I'm very aware, conscious and considerate of other travellers when I fly...

We should have a forum for 'MANNERS' on this board...you know, tips on how to answer on a thread when you are a newcomer, etc...:cross-eye

Thanks to the rest of the posters...I realize it will be hectic, I just wanted to see if there were any others who have travelled during this time and could give me any kind of advice...

Patience, patience...that's my mantra for this month...

I always try to keep it in my head that everyone else in the airport is just as excited as I am to be arriving, some even more since they may have not been home for more than 5 years. It keeps me calm and not as frustrated as I might get. In fact watching some of the older ladies getting so excited - kind of starts my fire of excitement.

Remember to pack some necesities in your carry-on as the one big problem at christmas time is lost or delayed luggage.

But..... you do not have any reason to blow up on me like that..... I made those comments TRY to help you in your Journey trhu DOMINICAN REPUBLIC withouth any problems, but since you say that i have not that many POSTS I DO have a sh*t load more experience than you in an airport and do not appreaciate the tone that you used in your post....

Customs and Immigration Inspectors will be delighted to be working on Christmas day, welcoming you to Paradise. Afterall they will be recieving double pay for the holiday. The immense sum of about 350 pesos extra. Be sure to smile back at them.

STIOP...I'm usually a very nice person, but for some reason, the fact that you were completely off track in regards to me and my question made me answer you like that...

I don't think I've ever read any other posts by you, but this time you sounded arrogant and uninformed...

Anyway, I do have tons of experience also at airports, I have been travelling since I was 14...and especially during this past year...I've been to DR 10 times so far this year!!!

I think I can gather from everyone's answers that it's gonna be hectic...and I've never been to DR in December so I didn't know what to expect...but I'll post my experiences as soon as I get back...
