Mr. AE is one of 5 Dominican brothers - they range in height from about 5'5" [the youngest] to 6'1" [the oldest].

I am tall - not that tall for a European woman (just over 5'7") but I tower over most people here, including Mr C.

How long is a piece of rope. Certainly the average seems to be for men less than 5 ' 7" but there are also numerous guys in the 6' plus range. Our grade 8 class has 10 boys with three of them in around 6 ' 2" and they are only 13 or 14 years old. However the girls in that class are all under 5 '. I have seen lots of midget size people here as well , barely 4' as adults. I think northern Europeans tend to be bigger and taller on average than most people and there isnt too many of them in the DR. Always there are exceptions to the rule. My brother in law is 6' 1" and my wife is 5'. lots of girls in the 5 ' 8" to 6' plus as well. I went to a volleyball tournament in La Vega and they towerwd over us.

Sh1t, you live in a cave? Towering at 5'7"?

More like Snow White next to my husband's sisters, a couple of whom are under 5'. :D
Most female friends are in the 5'2" range. There are a couple of Dominican women I know who are as tall as me or taller, and quite a few men too, of course, but on the whole people are shorter here compared to Europeans.

Yes, agreed people are smaller in DR than Europeans.

I think towering above at 5'7" in enough of a reason to live anywhere:classic:
