Latest news I saw last night had the storm going West before turning WNW over Haiti. No more rain in Santiago, a little breeze and cool temps right now: 4:45 or so.

We are strange, we have blue sky and rain. I've never seen this before. Not constant but it is hitting us every 4 minutes and then dies, nothing!

Surprisingly quiet during the night in Cabarete, slept right through with the windows open but it is a bit gusty this morning, still no rain but it is cloudy.

thanks for sharing the Video, Sush.

here on the eastcoast we had soft but constant Rain on for many hours, but it came down softly, not a large ammount, just constant. it is still not completely finished, but now just a sprinkling this morning.
as the hardest Winds during the last Days never exceeded the 20Knots range much we never closed any windows, the House is all around always open to get fresh Air for a good night's sleep.

Emily is statinary again, after she went West for some hours on slow 5mphr, now all stands still again.
She did of course not do any recurving, the usually reliable Tracking models did on Emily fail 100%, she went/moved not even close to the predicted Movements/Tracks, from the beginning til now.

as Emily is not reaching High enough into the Atmosphere to get pushed by the usual Steering Wuinds there she just wanders slowly with the low level average Easterly Breeze from East to West.
some doubted a Northwards Turn from the beginning, ncluding myself, only a strong TS Emily or Hurricane Emily could have done the NW'erly Route.

right now She stands still SW of Barahona/SE of Port au Prince, not moving. that Center/Surface Pressure Low is standing there alone, not acompanied by any significant Rainload or Thunderstorms, as theyb are all located very far away from the center over here on the East and SE of the DR, She's weird, She's a Lady, lol.
surroundings for Intensification will not change much during today, so she will not grow up. once on the Move again it will be again a westward Track close to the Haitian Southcoast towards Southern Cuba. durng that Movement the Rainloads from over here will wander cross Country East to West over Hispaniola, most of it over the Southern Regions, but from what we got here in PC til now I do not see a big Deal out of it, we did not receive a large amount of Water here on the East when the Mainportion went over us last night.
while Typing This the sprinkling went again into a constant rain, soft but constant, it will stay that way most of today and then little by little clear up once those clouds are empty.
We have Zero Wind here on the Eastshores, feels like a Vaguada in early Spring, just that it is a bit "cooler" ow than it would be under a Spring-Rain.
we are on 25C which feels like -15C,
the Airport shows the relative Humidity with 94%!!!, I don't feel it any Humid here, the Air is nice fresh, Time for a real barometer, lol. maybe I just feel it different due some Fever I have since early morning, finally that Flu will come out after many days of bothering.
in the Distance to my SE I can now also hear the Thunder Roll, Skies are full Grey and Black.

I don't see Emily on any sharp Turn, She will mostly move West with the usual slight drift towards the North due the earth's Spin/Her own Spin, as those Storms always try to get farer away from the Equator, but maintracking will stay West as it anyways had been since the beginning of Tropical Storm Emily.
that means some more Rain with a bit of Thunder for DR and Haiti and SE'ern Cuba.

I can not predict the surroundings of Emily once She passed Cuba, most Models predict a fast Intensification before She approaches with New Powers SE Florida, but as they've been so wrong on the predicted tracks til now it is all just "Guessing".
let's stay calm when driving on the Wet/flooded Roads as that will be our biggest Danger on the low quality DR Pavement Surfaces, on Her slow Speed She will quiet take a while before Her Influence on the Colour of the DR Skies will be completely gone.
later this morning we will check the Sea Conditions off the Coast, I await that we will be fine to be back fishing by tomorrow morning, Watersport Activities on the Southshores of course should stay closed for an other couple Days.

Yes HB,
that's Her problem, the Center stands alone while the Thunderstorm activity and rainloads are far away on the east and NE of the Center,
that's why Emily allows on the Sat Shots the Surface Pressure Low(Center of every Storm) to be seen/visible to the Cams due no heavy clouds on Top/surrounding it.

Emily started Her slow walk again,
is now wandering West WNW, that would be the Direction towards Port au Prince and bring Her Rain East of the center over the Mountains of the DR.

here on the east we are still Dead calm, Zero Wind, Rain stopped completely.
Inshore Sea is a Flat Plate and Offshore Sea is calm today.

let Her move fast to get back to our usual Sunshine.

just to add to above:
here on the East in case of rain it is almost over, radar shows very little around as the water moved Westwards.
the Waterloads of Emily are now going out of the Reach of the Puerto Rican radar Station, so in an other hour or 2 I will not be able to see it's position anymore.
behind that it looks clear for the East til now, so our cloudiness will hopefully be gone very soon.

Now that She moves again Her latest Directions should bring Her over SouthCentral Haiti, then SE'ern Tip of Cuba, along the Western bahamas and towards SE Florida.
Depending on Conditions over the SE USA once She wanders along Western Bahamas a recurving to the NE out on open Sea is possible, but too early to predict.

There is still a lot of water activity in the East
http://www.wunderground.com/data/images/g3_ir.jpg

Here in Higuey we have been getting lots of water, continuous regular rain with brief interruptions and brief heavy rain.

In PUJ you never get that much of water as the rest of country, not even Higuey that is 40 kms away. I remember once in Higuey we were having a heavy rain all day and when I went to PUJ to see a customer it was partly cloudy there and PUJ did not even get one rain drop that day at all.

that's right, George.
PC is Flatland on Sea Level, the least point for strong Rains to come down, and even we had quiet some hours of soft but constant Rain last Night.
Your Higuey just a 40 Miles Inland is surrounded by Hills, the far more likely spots for incoming Clouds to gather around and pour down.
for the Coastal PC it doesn't look like more rain actually, it is cloudy but the darkest ones are already gone, wind is now w perfectly fresh low 4-5 Knots, will pick up a bit more during the afternoon.

Emily can be awaited to run Her Center on Land on the Haitian Southshore the next few hours,
as the Rainload is on Her East it will pour down most likely over the SW DR/Barahona, maybe some portions til the Capital, and of course Eastern Haiti.
would be interesting to know how much Water the east really received last Night a bit Inland, let's say around Higuey/Nisibon etc, as the amount we received here on the Coastal Area of the East been nothing significant, we have during Winter and Spring many rainy days when we get several Times of what Emily brought over here.

Keep all the Cattle in, specially when located in the Western Araes of the DR Mountains, I can Imagine that the water coming down there will be many Times the amount we had here so far.
the estiomates of the Hurricane Center in case of Waterload ranges now 6-12inches for Portions of the DR and even up to 20 inches in Isolated Areas, and such is sure anythng else but not Funny, it is the Top of all Weather born Dangers due Mudslides and flooding Rivers, and those Rivers on that side there are also the ones where contamination with Cholera is present, they may swap around quiet some large Areas, bad sideeffects due a simple weak Tropical Storm, hopefully held under control, as those Regions really do not need any extra Kicks.

right now the Hurricane Centers 2PM Update is out,
Emily moves on 10mphr WNW and lost more Powers, max Winds in the Storm are now down to just 40mphr.
the weakening has different reasons together:
Interaction with our Mountains is never in Favor of a Storm,
the Windshear on Her North been and is unfavorable,
Dry Air to Her North/NW and West,
She is now very close to the Haitian Southshore/touching Land.

all the best for the Haitian West and the DR Border Regions,
Cuba is easily within the possibilities for large rain ammounts, too,
the further path and strength, IF She survives as a Storm anyways, is very uncertain.

DR is rainign pretty hard. This is the hardest it's been (I think). I havent been outside and was sleeping in the am. The clouds on the storm tracker show Distrito N in the middle of the clouds. maybe its halfway done? My roof was leaking real bad for a minute so hopefully that doesnt happen again ha.

Is there any parts of the DR that arent raining (on the south east side) ? I guess that may symbolize the cloud line has run out?

Emily is moving so slow. I dont see TS or Hurricanes. Do they normally move 5 miles an hour? ha

Emily is 197 miles away and slowly moving away (north and northwest). at 11 am i think she was 182 miles away. Looks like she is now moving 10 miles an hour. Do the clouds move fast if the center moves fast?
