As of 10am on Thursday, 7 September 2017, flights are resuming at the Punta Cana International Airport, on the east coast of the Dominican Republic. Flights had been suspended due to the passing of Category 5 Hurricane Irma.
Have reports there was some rain and wind gusts in La Romana, but not much to say for Irma.
In Santo Domingo, the storm was not felt. There was a storm at the supermarkets, as people prepared for the worse.
The good news is that the forecasted paths for the country were accurate, giving more confidence in following these. But, and the big but, there are too many variables with a hurricane, so we all need to continue to prepare for the worse and then celebrate the best.
Regarding DR1, I have asked Robert to look into switching server companies if the company in Houston has problems that affect our service.
