Here is a video i took at Bluefish ocean front condos in Perla Marina- 1 hour ago. Winds are gusting enough to blow you over.

Using Google Earth. From Sosua to the center of the eye is about... 55 miles. Much closer then was projected. Now I'm sorry I looked.
last time i looked the Core had just 20 miles
and towards the S the Storm is loosing powers quickly
thanks to our own Mountains and specially to thenPR Mountains which did the first good job cutting down the W and SW of Irma.
but you will get strong winds for some hours tho.
you will stay inside and perfectly fine

A lot of wind and rain here in Sosua now, I lost the battle to stop the leak from sliding windows, wind just smashes water to it and it ends up in the inside - although some water on the floor is not a big deal, mopping away.
A window metal awning of the condo opposite eventually flew off - hope it landed safely, the other one of his is holding. I tied up mine with cables just now, though the wind is coming from other side for now, so direct at his but not at mine.
I am thinking this should be the peak for us.... (although I hate to see the wind coming from the other end).

is it max 37 or is it max over 70?
the difference of those thrown out wetaher channel numbers say
"you get max less than Tropical Storm winds"
and at the same time the say
"you will get Hurricane winds".
they would better shut up and just admit:

back from the origin, this page exists because the weather channels prooved to be a useless pain in da B... over the decades.
we rely on our own info, given by the real ppeople who are really on site/at a place at the moment the stuff hit tha area.

we are at the moment still dead calm, not the lightest breeze.
the boats in front of me face to Me, so we are on a SW'ern direction.
