In which nation do you not have to follow the existing rules in place?
I would not want to live in a lawless society.
Are you trying to make your point by pretending you didn't understand my point :D? It's not about "follow the existing rules in place", it's about not voluntarily going to a country where "the existing rules in place" do not appeal to you and you think are ridiculous.

Too many individual points. None of which will change the reality at hand.
Even for the foreigner with too much free time in the video provided.

the opposite applies for some people too. They can't imagine going to a country spending hundreds and/or thousands of dollars to be inside the house by 7:00 p.m. they feel sorry for you
They have their point of view as well. Understood.

It is great to see that the RD is attracting the best, brightest, and classiest visitors to this country.
Following the video, this LOSER has the nerve to ask/request persons to donate and support his YouTube "work".
Support exactly what, paying his bar and escort bills?
This is definitely a product the RD definitely does not need, want or desire any longer.
If the video reporter was so offended, he should book a departing flight to his home nation.

Sorry, but you area dead wrong .. about this guy
He is actually a VERY ACCURATE You Tube Vlogger, REPORTER/ Journalist almost in fact ..
he is just very frustrated about how these Thugs Confiscate and now Blatantly STEAL Money from Tourists .
They are completely taking advantage of the situation any way they can , extorting , Stealing and intimidating ...

they are SCUM.

Sorry you dont like this guys Reporting sttyle .... but what you say is totally unfair .. the guy is reporting what he sees
and SAYING EXACTLY what the rest of us are THINKING ...... he is SPOT ON..
I highly doubt he is getting RICH off these videos

and to be honest I would not have the BALLS to Expose these Thugs in Uniforms ... you could be putting your Life in Danger .
the guy has more balls than most .

I am not dead wrong. You just do not agree with my outlook.
My opinion is just that, my opinion.
Feel free to donate all the money you want to this Social Justice Warrior, if you so wish. The life you choose is yours.
I guess I missed his working press credentials within the video.
Just another bored foreigner with too much time on his hands.
Perhaps his next video could be of interviewing foreigners and asking them why they do not think that the rules that apply to everybody else within the RD, are not applicable to them.

Cabarete
I was on the beach in Cabarete Thursday. A lot of people there due to the holiday. Mostly Dominicans, some tourists. No problem in Cabarete.

The beaches are open and so are the restaurants on the beach. What basis do the police in Sosua have for doing this?

And perhaps cherry picking a video is not what is happening in the mainstream of the country. But it suits the poster's agenda and that's ok for him. It gives him support in his opinion to stay home. A board of various opinions. Que fino. :)

Same here in JD. Peaceful crowds. Many of them in big fancy cars "watching the paint dry''.Seems to me they, their guests and family were having a great time in the sun and water. All respecting the protocols...ah, maybe that's what happened in Sosua.? IDK.

why is he so down on the local PD, they are only doing what they are told
He did leave a lot of unanswered questions didn't he? Like why were the police there in the first place? Was it a rental board or not? Had the hotel or resort called them? Something else we couldn't see before he started the video?

You hit the nail right on the head with your assessment of this clown. "LOSER"

He has more conspiracy theories than Alex Jones. He trolls around Sosua promoting "Chem Trails", "5g Conspiracies", "New World Order Conspiracies", etc. He posts on YouTube under "Educated Traveler", yet is neither educated nor much of a traveler, other than the Sosua area.

He is a constant fixture around Sosua, soliciting donations or sponsors for his "channel" and more often than not unashamedly asking whoever he can engage in a conversation for more than three minutes to buy him a beer.

He is just another Sosua "YouTuber" slinking around the streets and beach like a wandering expat fool, a snake oil salesman trying to represent himself as legitimate because he has given some precursory insight about Sosua and has some followers on his YouTube channel.

For a while his presence was somewhat entertaining and amusing, unfortunately his representations have become an annoyance to many of the legitimate business owners and residents of the area and his existence ultimately pathetic and tragic.

How many of his videos have you actually watched ??

The guy does nothing but try to help educate people
He is not a Cuba Dave, or one of those other "whore mongers" you guys seem to despise so much .
why is he so down on the local PD, they are only doing what they are told
Sosua Police can be real DICKS .. they do not know right from wrong ..
I could give specific examples but why bother.. they are pathetic Losers , most of them .. looking for a Propina .
You can bribe these cops to do anything probably even get rid of a Body .. they just dont know right from wrong ..

If Willie truly is running things though, they will be reprimanded for their Stupidity ..
you do NOT steal SURF BOARDS from Tourists , that is just way beyond Effed up ..

Here are some of the problems with this video.

First of all the police aren't "stealing" beach chairs as this fool claims.

CESTUR gave a directive that day due to strong sustained winds, high wave heights and strong tidal currents, that all beach chairs, tables and umbrellas should be placed away from the edge of the water for their own safety and to discourage swimming, which was prohibited in that area due to the extremely rough surf.

The majority of businesses had their chairs set up properly in the morning. Later in the day some of the chairs were moved closer to the surf. CESTUR only targeted those businesses whose chairs were too close to the rough waves. As you can see in the video, they only MOVED the chairs away from the surf, further back on the sand where all of the other businesses had their chairs properly placed. THEY STOLE NOTHING.

About the surfers. YES, CESTER confiscated the surfboards of TWO LOCALS, who knew about the directive of no swimming but refused to heed the order. It has been done on this beach before and also in Cabarete, these locals should know better. Their surfboards can be picked up the following day at the CESTUR station. And again, THEY STOLE NOTHING.

THAT WAS IT ! ! !

TWO LOCALS had their surfboards confiscated for violating the beach rules for that afternoon and a few beach chairs were moved away from the edge of the rough surf to be in compliance with the CESTUR directive. As you can clearly see in the end of the video, all the beachgoers were still enjoying their day and a few chairs were moved to that area to be in compliance.

In reality not much to see here, unless you have an agenda.

Mr. T's vulgarity laced rant was noting more than that, a rant, not based on fact but on his agenda. Like I said before pathetic and tragic.
