it is sometimes much more cheaper to get a complete arrangment with flight / 1 or 2 weeks all inclusive in a resort near Puerto Plate like RIU Mambo or Puerto Plata Village than the naked flight.
OK, loose the return flight in this case, but anyway..
I was at the Puerto Plata Village Resort until today, because I made the same with my flight.
Try www.ltu.de or www.schauinsland-reisen.de (for Puerto Plata Village)
And anyway, if YOU fly from Germany it is a lot cheaper than from any other country
