I need inverter batteries

Are there any made in the DR? Are they worth importing, now with the great dr-cafta?

The good batteries are the imported ones.
I do believe they are the type used in fork lifts, as they are the type used in golf carts.

Battery Import

Are there any made in the DR? Are they worth importing, now with the great dr-cafta?

I had a battery shop import 16 US-2200 batteries for me (Aug. 07).
I simply liked the idea that they are of the same batch and would not have much shelf life.

It's too early to tell whether they last longer than the two previous sets ("Trace T-115"* and Trojan T-105).

*): The Trace company wrote to me, that they DO NOT make batteries.... :lick:

Agm Batteries, Etc.

Has anyone tried AGM batteries for solar or otherwise? They are more expensive, but claim to have a longer cycle life, discharge slower than other batteries and be maintenance free. Anybody know where to get them in DR? Also, has anybody had any experience in importing alternative energy items taking advantage of the new tax-free laws? Please advise. Thanks.
