A Dominican man was caught in a shelter with drugs, $$$ guns. He was not listed as being in the shelter. They have no clue when he got there or how long he has been there. He was staying illegally with relatives who are legally at the shelter. He is being held without bail. It is not known yet if they will deport him or put him in jail in the USA.

Jamao al Norte
In my opinion, get rid of him. I know probably 25-30 Dominicans in and around Jamao Al Norte (with a population of about 7,000,) who paid to go to the US illegally. There are many others who try, and try again to get a visa legally and are rejected for what ever reason.

In the DR there is always a way to get around the laws. In the US, not so. And if you are caught, beware.

Give a news source or this is just meaningless....I could type a bunch of stuff too. Not a personal attack, but come on. And don't come back and say I can do the search....

It was on WCVB news in Boston. I looked for it but couldn't find it. I am not good at posting links.
Google is handy:

Thank you for posting the link.

I saw the same report. I'm sure I can find it. BRB.

Note to myself: Read the whole thread before taking action. KC beat me to it again.

Paying to go through the court system and jail him is a huge waste of taxpayers money.
Deport him and be done with it.

He'll just be back illegally. While I agree it's a waste of money, it's necessary to make sure he doesn't offend again. The article says he's 28. Give him 37 years. Gets out at 65 and is probably no longer a threat.

He needs to do at least 10 years, then deported.
Probably spend 5 and back to DR. They hold them for 4-8 month in immigration before deported. Run up the cuenta with the government . I guess that's okey because it's business.

It's Massachusetts. He'll probably be back on the streets in a week, released with a voucher for dinner at Applebee's

10 years is the minimum mandatory federal guidelines sentence if convicted.

From there he will deported back to the DR.

Note that there is a move by some legislators calling for the death penalty for repeat re-entry offenders who have been previously convicted of gun and drug distribution crimes.

To answer a poster above, Don Kent past away many years ago…..as did another weather legend in Boston….Dick Albert.

Well, the world is full of bad tradeoffs and this is one of them.

Out of curiosity (as I am a Bay Stater) where in the Commonwealth is this going down?

That much is true. Just another example of the failed war on drugs.

When only 10 lbs of fentanyl is worth $1 million USD and it is so easy to make, you know that supply isn't dented in the least by such an arrest.

according to their laws, there are no illegals in that cesspool that many years ago I called my home

Just to clarify, the illegal Dominican has not been charged by the Commonwealth of Masachusetts….at least not yet. His charges are federal in nature, subjecting him to a new incoming US Attorney for the District of Massachusetts appointed by the new President on the 21st.

Expect very aggressive prosecution.
